YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World5
Jul 20, 2025
It might be innovative in 1996, but the jewel system is really not suitable for modern players. This game is mostly only good for retro players who enjoyed the game in 1990s and want to replay it on modern platforms. It has good art and music, but probably not good enough to keep modern players playing.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth8
Jul 20, 2025
Generally better than the previous game, Mask of Deception. The gameplay is much more improved, and the story is much longer than the previous one. Some challenges are a bit hard, and you might need to farm levels to beat them, but still of fun and manageable.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles10
Jul 20, 2025
This is the best Ace Attorney game in the series. During the 3DS era, the Great Ace Attorney was released in two parts. However, it is clearly designed from the very beginning that the two parts are a complete story in whole. Luckily, the two parts are now released as one game, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, with English localization. It is not perfect. It has no Chinese and European languages localization, which all other AA games have. Also, it’s capped at 30fps and the FMV are even played at a terrible 24fps. However, it is still the best Ace Attorney so far, and I decided to give a 10/10 to compliment on Capcom’s effort.

Astro's Playroom9
Jul 20, 2025
It’s amazing, it’s a must-play, AND it’s free. I’ve never excepted that such an amazing game could be free. Compared to its predecessor, The Playroom, on PlayStation 4, this game is much, much better with larger levels, more variety of enemies and collectibles. It’s a lot of fun watching PS consoles and accessories in the in-game library.

The King of Fighters XII5
Jul 20, 2025
It’s better to consider the game as an unfinished game. I can’t think of any reason to buy this game, unless you are a completionist. But, anyway, the online servers have shut down, and it’s no longer possible to unlock all achievements.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception7
Jul 20, 2025
It’s a nice game as an anime-style visual novel, with nice musics and voice-overs, but the gameplay part is too simple. Not only because the battles are easy, but the system is lacking details. It would be a great game for you, if you are looking for a visual novel with no difficulty, but not so great, if you are looking for a tactical role-playing game.

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed7
Jul 20, 2025
The unique battle system (cloth-stripping) is somehow interesting. The game also restores the real scenes of Akihabara very well, giving you an immersive feeling. However, overall, it is still an average game with an average story and an average gameplay. Text rendering seems odd in Western releases.

However, overall, it is still an average game with an average story and an average gameplay. It hurts me to see the game constantly uses left and right quotation marks incorrectly and interchangeably. Luckily, it is well optimized and run smoothly on PS3.

Yomawari: Midnight Shadows7
Jul 20, 2025
I love its unique atmosphere and fine arts. Compared to its predecessor, Yomawari: Midnight Shadows has larger levels, yet not too large to play. It also has many interesting enemies, while the overall difficulty is easier. I enjoyed a lot during the gameplay. However, there are some serious glitches. On Vita, sometimes there are suddenly texture glitches, which may lead to game crash, probably due to limited RAM. Also, in order to match the protagonist’s identity as an elementary school student, texts in the Japanese version of the game are all written in hiragana, which makes it a bit difficult to read.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII10

The best FF ever. It has an open world, similar to FF15, which contains many sub missions that make the world looks more real and completed. In FF15, you are thrown to a huge world where you don't know what to do. However, in LR-FF13, the world is shown to you step by step, in a more friendly way. At first, you can only travel by trains. Then, you could travel by wrap points. At last, you could travel between cities by walking via wild roads. The time limit is also something new. I know it's annoying, but it makes this story to make more sense, because the world is going to end, and you don't want to feel like Noctis of FF15, who should obviously do everything in a hurry but he actually didn't. Time limit in a ending world is reasonable, no matter whether it is an open world or not.
