Call of Duty: Modern Warfare3

Overall the game is bad. I play mostly multiplayer. The maps are awful, worst I've seen in any FPS and I've played a ton. My main gripe is there's no cover, no way to set up strategy, just angles on you from every direction, almost as if someone went through every map and made sure you could not hold down a position. The kills are also way too fast making the guns and perks pointless, pick any gun, it won't matter. This also makes Run N Gunning nearly impossible, it's really just pure luck. The game encourages camping imo I didn't play Campaign much but yes it is soaked in "we hate russians" propaganda, someone at Activision clearly hates Russians. There was no reason to screw with the way minimaps work, but they **** sure why. Footsteps are also much louder than they need to be and there's a lot of annoying and pointless chatter from your character. Outside of that there are a few good things. The Gunsmith is cool, there's a ton of ways to customize your weapons. In fact the amount of customization you can do is really the best part about this game. I like the killstreaks too, nice variety, and the graphics overall are decent.

Fallout 48

I'm about 30 hours into this game. I'd have to say it's a solid addition to the franchise. Everything about it, besides maybe the storyline/writing, was improved upon. The UI and combat feel much better compared to the previous titles. A bit smoother if you will. I'm not a huge fan of VATS, but I will use it ocassionally for a slow mode kill. The map is somewhat small as many have pointed out. Let's think quality over quantity in this regard. The areas in this small map have a lot of character, lots of polish, and a lot of loot. The intro to the game was a bit lackluster, I think I was more amazed with Fallout 3's intro and emerging for the vault. The crafting and modding of weapons/armor are both nice additions. I've spent lots of time already building up Sanctuary, the first settlement you're given. It's the first time I've personally seen a single player RPG do something like that and it's pretty cool to be able to craft the world you're playing in. Anyways, it's a fun game and is really content rich, even if many of the quests are a bit shallow. 8/10

Cities: Skylines - After Dark10

For a cheap expansion, it really helped me get back into Cities. The cities look great with the lighting, and they added several new building types to the game. Definitely the best city sim since simcity 4.......

Already I think I will enjoy this game more than Tanks, and I am. First off, it's free, that's a big bonus. Graphics are good, the ships look great, and the gameplay is pretty fun and addicting. What I've come to expect out of Wargaming. Not many makers have taken on the age of steel, and you probably won't find a better online game in this era. I feel after a few games in a row it loses its charm pretty quick though, and becomes somewhat mindnumbing. I prefer to play 1 or 2 games a day and try to call it. With the grind it's easy to find yourself playing so many games of it in a row you become sick of it. I'm also disappointed they didn't put in submarines, it's kind of hard to ignore that huge factor of the era....I can understand the game design would be harder, but maybe high tier premiums in the future.

The trading part of this game was actually pretty solid. The overhead view of Europe and Africa, as you built trade ships and sent them across the sea. The game just feels like it's half-done. I felt like more time could have spent with the sea battles. I played Total War: Empire, and their sea battles are nearly the same, and that's one small area of that game. Another thing I was disappointed with is the fact fleets can only carry 5 ships. Why? It kind of ruins the experience of the battles, so many great naval battles of that era were fought with dozens of ships. 5/10+

I played enough of this to give it a review. While it looks really good the gameplay is pretty much the same across the board for all characters and it get dull pretty fast. EA also seems to screw up every time how knockouts and other elements work, although better in this game, it still doesnt make much sense to me. As an MMA sim I'd give it a higher score. As a game you want to play for fun, it deserves a 5.

This is what SimCity 2013 should have been. The game is extremely addicting for the fact that you have the options to get bigger and expand, expand, and expand. All the better elements are there from the Simcity sims, managing traffic, zoning, etc.... My only complaint is the cartoony look of the game, which I assume is to help it run as smooth as possible, and the cities can look kind of generic and plain, whereas older sims had more way to spice it up. Hopefully with the mod community, it will make it much much better though. It's a solid addition to the genre overall.

Total War: Attila8

I love the Total War series. Although Attila feels like a Rome II expansion, it has a lot of good qualities that sets it apart. The factions and units arent really wowing me so far, but I do enjoy the overall gothic look of the game. Be prepared to play this on normal or hard, as it's one of the more challenging Total War games I've ever played. Which in my opinion is a plus. Challenging > Steamrolling computer. I failed 3 campaigns as Saxons on Hard. I moved over to Franks and so far I'm making progress. Make as many alliances as possible and have a plan.

NHL 154

It looks decent and plays pretty average. It just didnt feel like they added much new or interesting. The bodychecks are lacking that power sounds, the fighting is pretty stupid compared to older games, and for some weird reason they took out the checking after the whistle (something every hockey game should have). I think I had more fun playing NHL 94 and other older titles. The best thing about this game is building your own team. The game itself is subpar. Another thing that is really frustrating is you can't alter the controls to your liking. They give you 3-4 controller setups, and some of them dont even explain what does what, you just have to figure it out on your own. Fail.

Medieval II: Total War9

Probably my favorite of the entire series. Especially with all the modding that's been done. My only issue is some of the AI is garbage, and there's some unavoidable bugs. I also wish they would have left out the muskets and guns.

GTA 5 is a masterpiece. The only things I didnt like about it were the music selection (really need 3 spanish radio?) and the fact a lot of the side missions were missing both in single player and online. I would have liked to see the side missions especially online for something to do in Free Roam. Taxi, ambulance, Police, firefighter, ice cream truck, etc etc.

An extreme disappointment. I can't understand some of the "10" scores. I imagine they are either not Total War fans, or they simply played the game for less than an hour. Lots of bugs, poor AI, and just a huge mess. Graphics and maps would be a step up, if not for all the bugs.
