Super Mario Galaxy9
Dec 15, 2020
This game is a very fun ride all the way through, with a very cool and unique concept for a 3D platformer, that even considering Wii graphics (not 1080p, which to mean it had already an outdated hardware for its time), this game still manages to look beautiful. Music-wise, it's my favorite of the Mario series, with grand notes that are on par with the grander scale of the game, compared to so far in the series, and very fitting thematically as well. The gameplay is very enjoyable, although the gravity can feel a bit floaty and sluggish, which might be by design, however I do prefer the springier-feeling Mario movement from other titles. Overall though it creates for disorienting platforming, but in the best way I can muster, as the camera is capable of keeping up with most bizarre scenarios that this game can dish out while still being manageable to surpass them. Overall, a must-play on the Wii, and even more-so on emulators, if you have a decent machine that can uprender it to look and sound even better than on the original hardware.

Super Mario Odyssey10
Dec 15, 2020
A wonderful game through, with each area feeling different and memorable on both aesthetic and gameplay aspects. Not much of a story, but it is as you expect from a Mario game, not plot but lots of character to every little thing. The music in this game is a bop. Highly climatic tracks that are fun to listen to even outside of the game, but also fit their moments tremendously. Gameplay-wise, it's the best Mario has moved thus far. Cappy (the ghost in Mario's cap) makes for a great addition to moth movement and combat, as well as introducing the possession ability that is the main draw of this particular game over other Mario titles. Each enemy/obstacle that can be possessed and controlled offers unique abilities, or funny secrets, that add a lot to the game's enjoyment. Overall this is a must-play for the Switch, no doubt about it, it's easily a masterpiece for the Mario series as a whole.

Slasher's Keep8
Dec 15, 2020
Slasher's Keep is a very unique style of Roguelite Dungeon Crawler, with original Doom-type graphics (2D Drawings/Sprites on 3D environments), great replayability, directional based combat -- primarily melee weapons, as well as some hilarious gun-like magic wands, and just great sense of humor through. As of today (15/12/2020), the game is still quite flawed when it comes to certain enemies and design choices, such as the Bloodmoth enemies, which can become unreachable by any melee weapon by flying over large endless pits, and damage-spongy enemies if you did not grind enough to be leveled appropriately for the floor you're in. The only effective 'weapon' in such cases is your trusty sack of loot, which you can use to push enemies into traps for insta-kills. I was a bit disappointed how, while the game allows you to pick different characters, the only real changes are the story texts that pop up between the floors, however the enemies, bosses, including the final boss, always stays the same. Overall however, it's still a very creative and funny game, with a pretty engaging gameplay loop that can entertain you for tens of hours.

Spelunky 28
Dec 15, 2020
Spelunky 2 is a wonderful, albeit flawed game design-wise, with brutal difficulty, often funny deaths, and TONS of replayability and secrets to find. The music is very fitting for each area, collecting gold is addictive and the enemies/traps tend to create very interesting situations you have to think your way out of. If you enjoyed Spelunky 1, this is surely not gonna disappoint, aside from frustrations with its higher difficulty and sometimes unfair damage, but the developer Derek Yu is hard at work ironing those out as the game goes along.
