There is censorship in this port. The story is shallow and uninteresting. There are times I skipped the dialogue because there is only one redeeming factor: the combat. Sadly that's all that is going with this game. If you've played other games of the JRPG genre, you'll soon notice that this game can barely hold a flickering candle in comparison. My regret was buying this digitally because now I can't get a refund.

Tetris, except with 98 other people and with only 1 winner. Its a Tetris Battle-Royale! Now since this game has been popular for decades, and there are tournaments out there every year or even multiple times a year, there will be many professional tetris players that you may come across. Probably every game. Plays on strategies are now incorporated such as offensive, defensive, and neutral with the different attack options that you can switch to mid-game. There are many other game modes too such as team mode where there are 4 teams split from up to 99 players, and even Vindictus mode where winners are able to compete in a much faster, infinite gravity Tetris. I am no great Tetris player like the thousands out there, but I'm still able to get a few Tetris Maximus and so will you if you enjoy playing this ageless game for the fun it brings. Definitely a must have for casual gamers and hardcore, or even first time gamers alike!

This was definitely an experience. The world is huge to explore, many fearsome and even cute monsters to encounter and fight, a collection system that encourages grinding, and the best cast of characters I've come across with each one having a unique and loving soul. Except the main protagonist. Removing him and making any other cast the main character would have made this the #1 game for decades to come. Consider playing in japanese to get that damn yell out of your head, but at what cost? The cost of all the fantastic voice-actors of the english cast too. Nobody wins.

The story is pretty bad. I'm on chapter 17 (18 total chapters if I'm not mistaken) and been ignoring all the voice acting and just been speed reading the dialogue just so I can finish the game. Especially with the overly cliche characters that has nothing new to add to the table. I had not grown attached to a single character in the game at all. The maps are re-used over and over, there's no feeling of exploration, there's nothing thought-provoking through in-game puzzles/level designs, and don't get me started on the fillers that you have no choice but to go through sometimes just to progress the story. There's an "auto-battle" option in every battle too, which at this point, I'm not complaining about so I can put my attention on other things than the repetitive combat. I love digimon since I was 6 years old but it seems that's where the childish excitement stem from. My girlfriend bought me the game since she knew I've always been a Digimon > Pokemon, but even she got bored watching me play. Its an okay game, but maybe something I would've bought for the 6 year old me, or for a kid's birthday gift.
