Game won't start when launched on a Turkish PS4 or PS5. The publisher, tinyBuild, was very friendly in response to my feedback messages; but time will show if they get around to fixing it.

Game will boot to a black screen when launched on a Turkish console. Sent multiple feedback messages to Spike Chunsoft through their web form 2 months ago, but received no reply!

Game becomes unplayable when played on a Turkish console or PC. System language has to be switched to English (US). An astonishing oversight on Atlus's part.

A truly beautiful game with immense replay value that should be played by all fans of the retro platforming genre at least once in their lives. Doesn't make a fuss with non-English system language settings either! Approach with CAUTION, IF your system language is Turkish, and you can't switch it to English. The previous game in the series (RCG1), which I confirmed was made in the same engine as this game, has a game-breaking compatibility issue with Turkish systems in general. The issue has been reported only recently, and it isn't fixed yet; though some users can work around it by switching their system language to English (United States). Bazı kullanıcılar bu sorunu sistem dilini ABD İngilizcesi yaparak aşsa da sorun yapımcıya yakın zamanda raporlandı ve henüz düzeltilmedi.

UPDATE in October 2025: I released a fan-made patch that fixes the issue I wrote in my review on Windows PCs, so that everyone has a chance to beat this game! You may find it by searching "river city girls patch bolofan05" on Google. REVIEW: Great game, but it is unbeatable on its own without my patch if your system language is Turkish, and you can't switch to English. Otherwise the game freezes at the start of the 5th boss, which is late into the game. This issue has been reported by multiple users to the developer (WayForward) just recently and it isn't fixed yet; though some users can work around it by switching their system language to English (United States).
