Not as good as the first game in terms of characters, story, and balancing especially when they used preset characters this time. But overall it's still worth playing since this one have a lot more content, better dungeon design, and some new combat features compared to the first game. Though playing the first one before would probably makes you enjoy the postgame content even more.

Amusing storyline, great humor, catchy soundtracks, charming characters, and simple but addictive gameplay. What more could a JRPG fans asked?

The game that started the best Saga in the series & also an Atelier game that arguably has the best writing. The music in this game are also really great with my favorite being Ibarra and MARIA, it put all the PS2 games which is the other games in the series that I played to shame in this regards. Overall it's a solid game that every Atelier fans have to experience at least once.

The highest rated Atelier game in Japan & they actually deserves it, it's really nice to see that this game are received well overseas too. The game has a lot of great soundtracks whether it's vocal or instrument and also have one of the best gameplay in the series. If you like some challenge then this game also have a great postgame content with challenging bosses unlike those PS2 Atelier games that are for babies. If you like romance story then the interaction between Escha & Logy will surely melts your heart.

They combined the good parts of both Mana Khemia games' battle system to make this one and also putting a far more interesting & creative alchemy system. The characters are also more interesting & good looking compared to those hyperactive anime schoolkids cliché from Mana Khemia. A solid 10/10.

Clunky game mechanics, generic & linear plotline, gamebreaking bugs, and shoddy localization. This game probably got everything that you won't like in a JRPG. Even this game is a disgrace to the Atelier series since the alchemy system in this game are really bad, they wanted to make things simple but ended up with a lacking & barebones one. The character portraits in this game also looks hideous as if the illustrator for this game finally learned how to draw by the time they make Atelier Iris 2. Overall 0/10 a total disappointment.
