Assassin's Creed Unity10
Nov 14, 2014
I was expecting unity to be terrible, but well, it wasn't. Assassins Creed Unity is an amazing and well-balanced mix of cinematic gameplay, simple-yet-fun stealth, and some huge and beautiful enviroments. Furthermore, while the microtransactions might look like a way to cash in, it is mostly a way to enhance the game even further. Ubisoft has made far more than sixty dollars worth of game, and therefore, you get to pay for the extra gameplay you want to have (the main storyline is worth at least eighty dollars in time, joy and beauty, so you're already getting some bang for your buck.) And really, were you expecting anything less from the makers of such classics as Watch-Dogs, the Far Cry series (especially 4) and, well, Assasins Creed? The storyline is impeccable (as always), co-op is tons of fun, and the entire game feels... next-gen. And as I said, I was expecting Unity to be terrible, and you know why? The countless trolls who berate the game for things I haven't even encountered within the game, the people who hack into the game to change fundamental parts of the game and then make 'bug videos' showcasing all the (alleged) bugs all to get views and make money off of the bad publicity this game gets. And that's terrible. And by 'that' I mean 'this game' and by 'terrible' I mean 'is awful and boring' and by the rest of the review I mean I haven't even bought the game. "Gave me ebola 10/10" - GabeN

Dead Sky10
Oct 17, 2014
This game is damn well the greatest. First off, the loading title is damn beautiful, the way the progress bar slowly climbs towards a total of 100% is a subtle yet profound statement on the very way we climb to the top during our brief lives, disappearing shortly afterwards, leaving only a smidgen of entertainment for the future man. The name 'Dead Sky', too, sends a strong message. In fact, it answers a question. Said question is 'Are we alone in this universe?' the answer is clearly 'Yes!', giving off a kind of bittersweet vibe. For you see, this would mean there would be one less threat in this universe, yet we would miss out on wonders and knowledge. That is what Dead Sky is all about, the choice between knowledge and safety, and the consequences of said choice. Mind you, we haven't even started the game yet. As we click on the icon of the game, the real journey starts. The first thing you shall see is the title screen, a masterpiece in itself. Scores of identical clumps of grass line the earth, leaving patches of brown dirt between them. Now, this might seem like lazy game design, just like how a bunch of lines and a square might seem like lazy art. But if one would would just hold his head in a bucket of liquid LSD for about one hour, give or take, the meaning, spectacle and most of all, art of the arrangement off this grass is revealed to the opened mind. Just, just go do that, come on, don't be shy. Right. Now, lets take another look at the title screen again (Don't mind the malformed, iridescent goldfish swimming through the air, that's not important) one might notice that the groupings of grass represent communities in our very life, growing out of a slightly damp mush of personalities, prejudices, and ignorance. Each blade of grass, an individual, each group, a community. The blades are intertwining, signifying relations. Furthermore, setting the graphics turns the grass into green blobs, which is also, like, woah, man. Now then, focus your thoughts on the car on the forefront (and by extension the building in the background.) As you might see, they are on fire. On fire, in fact, with the burning passion of the suppressed masses. For we know, matter under pressure generates heat, and so do people. The car represents the heavy influence of infrastructure on our daily lives. How the governing upper class uses it to keep us under control of the police. The house, however, represents that we must take our leave from such meaningless things as warmth, keeping yourself dry, and not getting eaten by bears. For those, too, are matters fabricated by the oppressive government and the race of ancient lizard people of which it consists. Now then, might you have patience and wait just a short while, you shall see a man, on fire, struggle across the field of communities. He groans (probably because he is aflame) and a spherical object gets lobbed towards him. He pauses, probably considering the nature of this object. Is it a gift, a weapon? He does not know, for such is the trickery of the ones we call the 'bosses'. Why the spherical object was thrown becomes apparent after a while, for it explodes in the man's face. Sometimes, the right option does not exist. Sometimes, all you can choose for is the thing that is the least wrong, not the most right. OVERTHROW THY SO-CALLED MASTERS, O WORKING CLASS!
