After reading through the negative reviews I can tell the majority of them are due to either the subscription model, pre-purchase incentives, or the reviewer played for 10 minutes and didn't get immediately hooked. I'm not going to talk about the preorder stuff even though I don't agree with what they did. The gameplay is what's important and it's fantastic. The quests have the great writing and backstory that is familiar to elder scrolls fans and they are varied enough to keep things interesting. The problem is the weak beginning. The game didn't really hook me until level 15 or so which is disappointing since that is several hours into the game. The amount of content is crazy and couple that with one of the best crafting and pvp systems I've seen in a long time and I think this will be a very popular game with a hardcore following.

So I tried playing this single player. What a nightmare. Your ally AI is so horrible that any remotely difficult fight they will go down in a couple seconds and there is no way you're getting them back up without dying. There is a boss fight a couple of hours into the game that took almost 20 minutes of running and slashing to beat. If he didn't have unlimited minions it might have been a bit better. After that it got easier for another 20 minutes and then another huge difficulty spike. The games combat is boring and repetitive. After about an hour you get tired of the crit kills and it just is the same over and over and over. I quit after reaching the midway point in the game and I felt like I had just wasted my time. I got stuck on a ridiculously hard boss and just eventually stopped retrying. Don't waste your time.

Good grief. I can't believe I fell for it again. I heard dedicated servers, next gen visuals, "new" feel to the movement and weapons, and a redesigned class system. I got excited. Then I saw the host migration screen. Then I saw that my fov was stuck at 65 and Infinity Ward are doing their best to keep fixes from being made available to the public. Then I saw the rubber banding when I was 10 ft around cover and suddenly die. Then I realized that secondary weapons are pointless unless you're out of ammo in your primary because you die so ridiculously fast in this game that weapon switching during a firefight just means you're already dead. It's just like any of the other modern warfare series of games. Treyarch really stepped up with blops 1 and then again with blops 2. And yet these idiots at Infinity Ward just screw it all up and take 10 steps back from what Treyarch was doing with PC CoD. I'm so disappointed after only 3 hours of playing I have no desire to pick this game up again. Everything that was good about Infinity Ward is now over at Respawn making Titanfall anyways. Maybe they will blow CoD away and people will look back and remember this series that took advantage of so many players. How they promised the world and barely gave us anything when it came time to deliver. CoD is officially a two year title for me from now on as long as Infinity Ward keeps bring this crap in the off season. I'll support Treyarch as long as they continue to do what they promise.

I had no idea how to review this game. It's not fair to give it a zero, because it seems like it would be fun if I could play it. The fact is that I can't play it for more than half an hour without feeling extremely sick. The FoV in this game is so extremely low in combat that it makes me dizzy. I don't know what the actual FoV number is, but if I were to guess I'd say 50-60. I can play comfortably on 90+ but prefer 100+. 50-60 IS CRAZY. I would not recommend this game unless they put an FoV slider in.

Pleasantly suprised with this game. I'm a big chicken when it comes to the survival/horror genre (I literally couldn't finish amnesia b/c I thought I was going to have a panic attack), and this game scared me quite a few times. The best part of this game is the "breaks" in scariness where you go around during the daytime advancing the story. This allowed me time for my nerves to calm down and I was able to continue the story. Too many games forget to do this and I greatly appreciated it. The story is very interesting imo, and I played for a solid three days to finish the game. The combat isn't anything special, but it's still fun and challenging at times. Honestly the only problem I have with the game is the spoilers built into the manuscript system. You find pages of the story you are writing throughout the game. The catch is that sometimes you find pages that haven't happened in the game yet... So when you read them it gives away a scene of the game that you will be seeing some point in the future of the episode you are in. It's kind of hard to explain, but if you don't like spoilers then don't read the manuscript pages until after you are finished with the episode that you found them in. (If you're in episode 2 it's safe to read the pages from episode 1, etc.) The game is a must buy if you like suspenseful/horror titles.

Yes the game is buggy, has outdated graphics, and a pretty bad weapon/spell switching system that feels like it was designed completely for consoles with no thought of pc in **** question is, does any of this matter when I'm running around dual wielding flames of death? Or turning into a werewolf and biting the heads off my foes? Does it matter when I'm running for my life from a pack of wooly mammoths and the angry giant herders? Do you think a crappy interface matters when I call down a dragon to snatch up that very same giant and drop him from 500 feet in the air? Do you think the tiny bugs really matter when I'm exploring a huge underground area that has a town full of enemies and pretty glowing mushrooms? You still don't know????? WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU GO BUY THIS GAME.

My score is based on the fact that this is an Indie game. A really great Indie game. The story follows a book, which I haven't read because it's not translated in English, and is actually a very interesting story. Different twists throughout the game kept me guessing as to what might happen next. The shooting works really well and there is a keen attention to detail in the game that some will appreciate and others will find annoying. The game is very immersive and draws you in exactly like a good book would do. Like others have said the enemy A.I. is half stupid at best and full stupid at worst. Play it on a harder difficulty because anything else is too easy. Payed $5 USD for the game and it was fun for a week or so. In my mind that is a good purchase. Graphics are top notch if your computer can handle them. All except for some of the hair models. Yes I said hair. The character models literally look like they have plastic hair that is glued on sometimes. Can't wait for Metro: Last Light to come out next year. I will definetely be buying it on day 1.

As far as FPS games go I've played the CoD series almost exclusively over the years logging in literally thousands of hours. Anyone should know before buying this game that you aren't paying $60 USD for a single player game. That being said, it is still frusturating to see them using the same engine with the same outdated graphics over and over. But, as a wise man once said, "if it ain't broke don't fix it." Or something like that. There is a reason this is the most popular shooting game in history. There is a reason that 90% of the reviewers who gave this game a score of zero are probably online right now trying to get the next unlock for their weapons. It is a quick, simple, fun to play game that will bring me hours of enjoyment over the next year. So here it is: 7/10 -1 for crap singleplayer mode THAT WE ALL KNEW WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. -1 for seriously outdated game engine. (Mark my words they will have a new engine next year) -1 for no ranked dedicated servers on the PC. (Lobbies? Intermissions? WTF that's lame.)
