This is just a standard JRPG dungeon crawler. It's nice to see the roots of the Persona series but unless you love grinding and dungeon crawling, stay away from this one. Also, keep in mind that you can reject new party members. If you choose to keep them, you won't be able to get other party members in the future.

It's fairly hard to add any innovation to the JRPG nowadays, but Trails in the Sky does just that. It is very story driven and the characters themselves are charming. If you're an old school fan of turn based combat, you will love this. There's enough depth to it to be awesome.

Alright, the people who are complaining about this game being linear are stupid. All JRPG's are linear (and some of the greatest games made are linear); that isn't the issue with this JRPG. The issue is that it's a story driven game and they don't even tell a good story. In fact, most of the important story details are stored in the database of the game. The first elementary aspect of writing that you learn is "show not tell." Final Fantasy XIII should have showed us all the important aspects of the story via diloague and cutscenes, not relegate them to some side database in the options menu. The battle is definitely unique but once you hit higher levels, you'll mostly be just using auto-battle. The actual strategy lies in your paradigm set up and how you switch between those paradigms in battle. I have to say that this is one of the most challenging RPG's out there; however, part of the challenge is due to the fact that if the character you're controlling dies, you game over. The graphics are amazing. The music is solid but everything else is below average. For a JRPG, it's about average. For a Final Fantasy, it's terrible.

This game had true potential. I felt that all the ideas used in this game were absolutely fantastic; however, the devs half assed all their ideas. First off, it's only a 20 hour game; that's half assed cuz RPG's should be at least 40 hours (they used to be 50-60 hours 10 years ago). It does some genre hopping but never goes all the way with it. I like the ideas they used but they could have gone further. However, the game truly shines in two areas: music and new game plus. The music is absolutely amazing. The new game plus really shows you some pretty awesome plot points that weren't there previously when you play your first time through. RPG fans ought to give this game a try.

I'm one of the few people who don't mind quick time events. Yeah, if you hate them, avoid this game. However, if you're looking for a very engaging storyline with multiple endings, Heavy Rain has it. It was essentially like playing an awesome Rated R crime/thriller movie.

So I played this game in 2013 and I gotta say that it's really fun. RPG's these days take 40 hours or less to complete. (Either that or it's a 20 hour game with 80 hours of side questing) This game is a tactical RPG which features two distinct storylines that intersect with each other. The characters are highly interesting and the plot is fantastic. Yeah, the voice acting isn't all that great and the game isn't too challenging but it's a great way to satisfy your SRPG urges.

If this game's story is a rip off of Harry Potter, then I never want to read a Harry Potter book or watch a Harry Potter movie. The story is filled with random characters who all have little motivation to do what they are doing. It's as if the developers made some story, then actually played a mission... Then they tried to continue their story without reviewing what they wrote before the mission. There's a whole disjointed feel to it all. It's as if the story and characters are all trying to go somewhere but don't go anywhere at all. Yes, it's a beginner's RTS game, but it's not very user friendly. I think it would have been great on the PC. It sort of reminds of StarCraft Brood War in a sense that there are no rally points and you can only select a small amount of units. So the game is you constantly selecting units and then constantly scrolling back to your base (since there are no hotkeys) to make units. I will say that the art is awesome.

Blizzard did not meet the minimum requirement for this game: playable. At launch, you literally could not play the game because the servers were down. On the second day, all the servers were down for another 8 hours. Even a week after its release, servers would go down occasionally during random times of the day. This could have all been avoided if Blizzard simply made a single player offline mode, none of these problems would be an issue. Blizzard is blaming hacking on the victims. I know a handful of friends who have been hacked and Blizzard did absolutely nothing for them. I found out that my friends who got hacked did not have an authenticator. I got an authenticator after those incidents. Days later, I was hacked and Blizzard isn't doing a damn thing about it. Poor customer service and a veritable plethora of bugs make this game an unenjoyable experience.

The whole story progression in this game is absolutely inane. You have to walk around a map consistently scanning just to get anywhere. There are no towns at all and no NPC's. Sure, this is a fan service game but the story is told in the most mundane way possible. Most of the characters relay jokes from their respective games; you won't understand these jokes unless you played all the games from which these characters come from. The most idiotic part of the game is that your allies are the shop "NPC's" in which you pay them money for using weapons that everyone uses; not to mention that this story takes place in a world devoid of an economical system.

There is no coherent story and no character development at all in this game. The game is a series of repetitive gameplay. The music is the worst of any RPG out there. The only saving grace is that you get to play as characters from the Marvel universe.

Alright. This game is not a game for RPG fans, it's for first person shooter fans. Speaking from an RPG perspective, everything about this game absolutely ****. The split screen doesn't split the screen properly if you play with friends (in the menus), all the quests are fetch quests (kill this 7 of these monsters), there is no character development, the story is horrendous, and the ending contains no closure.
