There are good sequels, then there are bad ones. Unfortunately we get another one with Happy Madison Studios making the not-so-likable character Paul Blart in his sequel "Mall Cop 2". Kevin James plays in the title role yet again as one of New Jersey's well known mall cops this time he is more annoying and obnoxious than ever. I don't think I have sat through a movie looking at a character more annoying than any of the other bad characters I have seen in other bad movies. Actor Kevin James has spoken out about liking this character (for whatever reason) and had the idea of making a sequel. The movie begins with Paul Blart, who had just got married and started to have a new life; that is until his wife divorces him after six days of marriage. This is ridiculous as it sounds but it gets more distressing after only five minutes in. Paul's mother goes out for a newspaper, and then is randomly run over by a milk truck. It suddenly goes from sad to dark just minutes apart. After Paul's mother randomly dies. his daughter gets accepted into UCLA, but she does not want to tell her father because she thinks it will hurt his feelings. They then take a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to go on vacation. Then the problems go on from there. There are so many gags and offensive jokes through out the entire movie. For example, the Segway that Paul shows off to two lousy men later in the movie is only there to extend the movie's duration time in order to get to the ninety minute mark. There are countless amount of these scenes in the movie that it makes the film boring instead of reaching its goal to be funny. Speaking of which, where is the comedy in this movie? None of the jokes are original and don't make any sense. I waited patiently for ninety minutes waiting for a funny moment to happen, but it never came. There are times where the movie adds in a random scene to make the movie look more ridiculous and redundant. There is one particular scene where Paul Blart attacks an African Crane, this scene tries to make Paul look like a funny guy, but really, he is being a jerk and shows that he is very easy to annoy. This isn't Happy Madison Studios' first film to have a sequel worse than its predecessor, Grown Ups 2, Joe Dirt 2 are both examples of bad films that the Studio should listen to the criticism in order to make their film better. Marvel has not disappointed us since "Guardians of the Galaxy" which came out a year ago as of the writing of this review. Marvel has brought us some memorable superheros like Iron-Man, Spider-Man, Captain America etc. But one superhero was not well known, that would be "Ant-Man". A hero created by the man himself, Stan Lee. Ant-Man did not get much praise when he was created in 1962; but when the film came out, almost everyone praised it for bringing the unknown hero back to life. A man named Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) resigns from the S.H.I.E.L.D organization after they tried to use him to replicate the shrinking ability that he had invented. We are then introduced to a man named Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), who is in prison for doing burglary. He is introduced in a unique way, a thief who happens to be a father of his daughter who was taken away from due to custody issues. He and his pals plan a burglary in a mansion to steal something they have heard the owner is keeping something locked up tight. Paul Rudd's performance is as good as he gets, alongside the supporting cast that he works with on camera. The fights is anything we have seen in a traditional Marvel movie, each of them having their own sense of action and tension. This is one of those movies that keeps getting better as the story progresses, a human being turning turning into the size of an ant. The concept is so intriguing, like how does he do it? What made Stan Lee think of this concept? It is overall original and interesting at the same time. The fact that Ant-Man can take down other guys by being the size of an ant is so funny; he is the size of an ant, but can still take down men that is one hundred times stronger than him. Sure the idea sounds funny, but when you look at it, it works like it came out of a children's picture book. The plot is predictable like most superhero films are (no spoilers here), but it is a fun summer flick to sit through if you have seen all the popular ones. This will be remembered as bringing Ant-Man back to life in the shape of a film, we will just have to see if Ant-Man will be in future sequels, or even in future "The Avengers" movies.

Denzel Washington is no stranger to cinema, with notable movies he has done in the past that includes "Malcolm X", "He Got Game", and "Training Day". He is a man of steel for his most famous roles; for collaborating with director Spike Lee on multiple occasions, and even starring with A-list actors in a handful of his films. The same does not go for "John Q", who is a father of a son who is dying and needs a transplant as soon as possible. The movie starts out rather keen, with John Quincy Archibald (Denzel Washington) and his wife Denise (Kimberly Elise) see their son collapse at a baseball game. Their son is immediately taken to the hospital; it is not long until they find out their son has an enlarged heart and needs a heart transplant. Unfortunately for John and Denise, they cannot afford it. Being the heroes they are, John and Denise break down and are afraid they will lose their sons life. John's anger and rage comes out of him as he threatens a hospital, he locks down the hospital with eleven people with him inside the building. The whole "Dog Day Afternoon" scenario of the movie is the hostages themselves. They are all forced to follow John's orders and stay with him until his son's heart gets transplanted. Denzel Washington looks like he wants to play like Al Pacino's role from "Dog Day Afternoon", just looking very closely will become obvious. A handful of supporting roles come into play about thirty minutes into the movie, with actor Robert Duvall playing the chief of the local police station. We also get a few cameos by Ray Liotta and James Woods who only appear in a few shots unable to save the movie from more catastrophe. John Q is a likable character, along with his son and his wife Denise. Unfortunately, the other characters do not help and are only there just to keep the film reel rolling for its nearly two hour running time. Another thing that does not help is the screenplay, this story has been done before in previous movies where there have been hostages in a building or someone kidnapping. There is simply nothing original in this story, even if the film makers were trying to hide it. I did like Denzel Washington's strong performance, but I felt that the supporting actors were just there and not to actually try to make the movie better. Maybe this will find a perfect audience for some movie-goers who are looking to find a good-bad movie on television late at night. If that is not the case with some, then I do not know what is.

What can be said here? This is the movie about David Frost and Richard Nixon's conflict why Nixon resigned from presidental office. So why did Nixon resign from office? He left because of the watergate scandal in 1974. Nixon was all over T.V and the world, this is where the reality talk show host David Frost comes in. Frost paid Nixon $600,000 to be in the interview on a special T.V interview to speak to him live in front of millions of people, this was a lot to him back when he had accepted to be in the special interview. Most of the performances in the movie are amongst the best in political drama; performances by Michael Sheen and Frank Langella add in to make the movie a joy ride. There are other amazing performances by Kevin Bacon, Sam Rockwell, and Oliver Platt as supporting actors. The movie takes it in a docudrama form with the characters describing the events that goes along in the movie as you watch it. The events are all well described accurately thanks to the well written screenplay and director Ron Howard's work on the film. The film starts out with Nixon getting ready to tell the world that he is resigning from office. Millions and millions of people tuned into this speech where Nixon infamously said that he is resignging, but what they did not know is why he quit. British T.V host David Frost was one of those people who watched the presdient fly away in his helicopter to leave the white house forever. Frost comes up with a plan to get Nixon to say why he resigned from office, on world-wide T.V. The film not only portrays David Frost and Richard Nixon so accurately, but it makes the audience feel for them. It is amazing how this interview was divided into four whole parts in such a span of time, being as it as, it is as if the interview was having difficulties getting over with. Nixon may have made a good decision with resigning, some disagree and thought he was afraid to say anything until he was cornered in the interview. The film is a piece of work by director Ron Howard and the cast of the film. All the performances deserve to be memorable, Frost and Nixon were once notable, and still are today for being in the conflict they both had. Not only will they be remembered for the conflict, but they will be remembered for what they did. Frost being a popular talk show hose, and Nixon being the 37th U.S president. Even at the end, you will still wonder why Nixon chose to give up the once in a life time chance at being president, and what Frost did after the event.

Whenever the word "desert" comes to mind, most people think of it as, hot, boring, sandy. All terms that are true in the desert and is one place you never want to be. "Lawrence of Arabia" proves to be a historical masterpiece in cinema, that won seven oscars including best motion picture of 1962. History is a big part of "Lawrence of Arabia", as it follows the controversial leader known as T.E Lawrence (played by Peter O'Toole). The film is very much accurate following the Brits and Arabs fighting against the Turks in the early 20th century. Very well portrayed and executed, the film has everything you would expect from a historical movie, being entertaining to watch every minute. The film starts out with one of the most beautiful musical scores ever composed. We are introduced to the movie hearing an original musical score for six minutes until the movie fully begins. The score is epic, funny, and enjoyable as you wait for the movie to begin. We then see a man riding on a motorcycle, he is not in the desert, but in England. The scene then transitions to a historical sight in another part of England remembering the battle of Arabia. T.E Lawrence sets out to find the prince (played by Alec Guinness) to help him fight the Turks during the World War I era in the early 20th century. He is set out by the Brits to go and find him, many new characters are introduced along the way, such as Sharif Ali (played by Omar Sharif), and Auda Abu (played by Anthony Quinn). The best thing about the characters, they all have something to do with the plot, not just to be thrown in there to be extras. The setting is like no other, taken place in the Arabian desert, the setting makes the adaptation of the film unique. The award winning cinematography made the film as great as it is and beautiful to look at. The costumes fit with the story of the film as all the Arabs look like the way they the used to look like. Overall, "Lawremce of Arabia" is a classic masterpiece. The film truly deserved the best picture award, and without a doubt, this is my favorite movie of all time. There is no other film I have seen that could top this one. Simply memorable by all the performances and classic scenes, this one os worth a go.

We all come across some memorable and beautiful films a lot of the time, films that do not disappoint and makes us all happy. That is not the case with "Baby Geniuses", a film released in 1999 starring Christopher Lloyd and Kathleen Turner as the main villains. The film was directed by Bob Clarke; if you are unfamiliar with this director, he directed the memorable holiday movie "A Christmas Story". So why did the director start to make these kind of films? We my never know. "Baby Geniuses" sounds like a movie that would come free with a box of diapers, put your child in the diaper and he/she will instantly become smarter than any other infant out there. These babies do not prove to be a genius at all, this film should be properly titled "Baby Smart-alecs". Because these so called "babies" have a bad mouth, cursing and fooling around with others to annoy the audience instead of being funny. Besides the fact that these infants are unlikable, all the other characters are about as hated as the toddlers. You should not care for any of the characters in the movie much less like them. The jokes are all unfunny and some even repeat; for example, a few characters say the term "diaper gravy" a total of three times in the movie. I guess the screenwriters of the film liked this joke so much that they wanted to repeat a poop joke. Another example is when two men dressed as janitors try to capture one of the infants, the scene then turns into a cat-mouse situation where one of the men predict that they will be hit in the balls with a ski board. Obviously the man does get hit and walks out, the other man who is also dressed as a janitor comes and the exact same thing happens, I am not even kidding. Besides jokes repeating, every joke tries to be funny and original, none of the jokes are funny nor original. The film starts out with the two main villains (played by Christopher Lloyd and Kathleen Turner), they announce their new park properly titled "Joyworld". The scientists both think that every baby is born to use a secret language that adults cannot hear. One of the geniuses named Sylvester escapes the hands of the two villains by jumping in a dirty diaper truck (this is supposed to be funny for some reason). Sylvester finds his twin brother who apparently never knew each other for some reason, but one of them is kidnapped by the two villains and is tested to do more experimenting. Another thing to mention is that when the infants talk their mouth never sync with the voices in the background. This happens from beginning to end, even the voices cannot help this movie be any better. The film editors could have made the infants not talk, but still have the voice overs. This film could have been like "The Adventures of Milo and Otis" where the animals never move their mouths, but still have voice actors talking for them. "Baby Geniuses" is a movie that should not have ever been shown to the public and instead left on the shelf. Be sure if you are buying/renting a family movie, make sure you walk past this one.

Why? Just why? Kids movies are all meant to be magical and something to remember. A movie you will always remember for what it is, and to keep it has a childhood favortie. "Kids World" fails to be memorable or enjoyable. The thing that every kids movie should be about nowhere appears in this excuse of a film. "Kids World" is something you give to your child when they are having a naughty behavior, and to duck tape them to a wooden chair while watching this. The movie all together is poorly made, the cast and crew of the film could have cared less than they already should have with this piece of junk. The film is like any other teen film out there, it is completely unoriginal and tries to copy "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and the style of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". The movie starts out with the main character Ryan, he is so sick and tired of being told what to do by his parents, being told to eat vegetables, and being forced to go to school. Ryan soon sees his love interest while she is being accomidated by the bully. Ryan gets picked on by the bully who is older than him and immediately gets out. Ryan wishes that every adult and teenager would disappear to make his troubles go away. And what happens next? He goes into this sacred cave and finds this gem which can apparently can grant any wish he wants. He obviously wishes for all adults and teenagers to disappear. The world is now only kids that are not teenagers. This story seemed to have been rushed, most of the things in this movie are never explained. For example, there is one character in the movie portrayed by actor Christopher Lloyd, and he is in a wheel chair, yet he is an adult. The character says that the disorder he has makes him act like a child. It's at this point where I scracthed my head wondering how this even tried to make any sense. This character is an adult after all, so why is he not with the other adults besides him thinking he acts like a child, but he is not? The acting overall is downright terrible, even if it is performed by children. Most of the performances are annoying and offensive all together. Not to offend any of the child actors in this movie, but they seriously need more practice in acting before they become Hollywood stars. Besides the acting, none of the jokes are funny. The jokes presented in this film make a Happy Madison film look like a master piece. I never laughed at one joke during the running time of the movie, I even felt offended by some of them. Overall, "Kids World" is a joke. The acting is terrible, the jokes are not funny, the plot does not make sense, and was poorly written. "Kids World" is something you can find at the $5 bin at your local grocery store, just pick up the movie and put it in your shopping cart and get ready for a disastarous time with your family when you get home.

You know when you have high expectations for an anticipated film? One that you have been waiting to watch since it was first announced? A film you want to see so bad that you are willing to go at the first opportunity, but ended up flopping so hard that you decided to walk out the movie theater before the film ended? Well "Batman and Robin" is one of those bad examples of anticipated movies gone wrong. Batman and Robin was directed by Joel Schumacher (8MM, Falling Down, Batman Forever) and stars George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film starts out with Bruce Wayne (played by George Clooney) and his buddy Robin (played by Chris O'Donnell) who get a distress signal about something going on in a museum in Gotham City. We then see a funny glimpse of the bat suit showing bat butts and bat nipples. While Clooney looks very silly in the Batman outfit, it seems it was designed differently for the film for some reason, Robin's outfit looks just as silly as Batman's costume. Batman and Robin travel to the museum only to find Mr. Freeze (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) steal a precious gem that he needs to freeze Gotham in ice. Other events go on in the movie along with another villain named "Poison Ivy" (played by Uma Thurman) who also wants to take over Gotham. Batman and Robin must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy before all is lost. While the story sounds silly and ridiculous all at the same time, it does not get any better unfortunately. The story progresses with unnecessary scenes that could have been left out and replaced scenes that actually have something to do with the story. An example of this is when Barbara Wilson (played by Alicia Silverstone, also known as "Batgirl") goes to a motorcycle race to win money; this scene is more "in the way" type scenario rather than having to do something with the plot itself. But there are other scenes where it does not have anything related to the plot, that's a shame because they are there to make the movie longer rather than explaining more of the main story. Not to mention, but the performances in the movie are just terrible. This is more like B-movie acting rather than professional acting; especially coming from these A-list actors who have made tons of great movies. What happened with the actors during post-production? Don't know, guess they were not themselves when this was being filmed. Batman and Robin could have been so much better if effort was put into it. Since this was a huge anticipated movie back in the day, this could have been successful if more thought and effort was put into it. None of these cast and crew members seemed to care, screenplay was poorly written, story makes no sense, the art design looks silly; overall a waste of time and money. Just don't forget your bat credit card if you plan to watch this movie.

Alejandro González Iñárritu's work on "Birdman" is an extraordinary ride for those who like art films, and for those who are in the mood to watch an unusual movie. Basics: "BIrdman" is one of those movies that is called a "Black Comedy", the atmosphere of the movie is dark and and sometimes funny. Michael Keaton is the star of the movie trying to overcome his past of being a former superhero star on broad way, with supporting actors and actresses like Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, and Zach Galifianakis. The supporting cast makes the movie better in almost every possible way. Plot: Michael Keaton plays as Riggan Thompson, a former superhero star who played BIrdman on broad way in his earlier years. Riggan tries to bond with his daughter Sam (played by Emma Stone), and bring an upcoming play with other starts (played by Naomi Watts and Edward Norton) to go to the top as he worries about being criticized. Riggan struggles with the cast and crew who criticizes his performance each time he goes on stage and rehearses with the actors, he must try to overcome is way of going back as he used to be. While Birdman may not be a movie for everyone, it is still one of those movies that is unusual a majority of the way through. Michael Keaton's work on the film earned him a best actor nomination at the Oscars, this is easily one of his best performances. Birdman's cinematography is absolutely amazing, the picture of the movie is comfortable to watch and makes it easier to watch. The screenplay written by Iñárritu is professionally written as the actors have tremendous performances. "Birdman" is a work of art in Hollywood filming; that being said, this is not a film everyone will like. This film is mainly for people who love watching art movies, this is also one of those films that you have to be in the mood to watch. Good movie overall, not recommended for everyone though.

Phenomenal and unforgettable, "Boyhood" is a film like no other, and makes it the best film of 2014. Boyhood took 12 years to make, which makes the film so unique in many ways, this is a movie directed by Richard Linklater, and stars newcomer Ellar Coltrane, and supporting cast members like Patricia Arquette (who won the best supporting actress Oscar), Ethan Hawke (who was nominated for best supporting actor) and newcomer Lorelei Linklater. Plot: The film starts out with Mason Jr. laying down on the ground looking up to the sky, his mother Olivia picks him up from school. Mason Jr. overhears his parents arguing that following evening, he quickly learns that Olivia is moving he and his sister Samantha are moving to Houston so Olivia could attend the University of Houston. From there all the characters slowly age for 12 years, showing each character for approximately 15 minutes each age. The film shows it had a lot of effort put into it, director Richard Linklater has shown us how childhood could be difficult and to show that it is important to keep up with life. Boyhood proves to be The Godfather of today's film industry, it is easily one of the most thought-out films to date. Boyhood in my opinion is one of my favorite films of all time, there is always something good about the film, there has been no other film like this one. I very highly recommend watching this one to see how the main character grows up.
