it definitely is my favourite sitcom of all time. it has four unique characters with totally different personalities, vivian the bastard, mike the cool person, neil the hippy, and of coarse the late rik mayall as rick.

Obviously, its very dated now and some of its humuor has not aged too well. However, it definitely deserves to be viewed as an iconic British comedy; I can 100% see how, when it came out, it was so subsersive. It's totally ridiculous but that almost makes me like it more.
