The largely improvised series is a jangly American version of 'The Office,' with its best comedy revolving around race, gracelessness, despair, and a glorious lack of self-awareness, courtesy of the kinds of outsize characters who inhabit the typical workplace.

An exceedingly funny spoof of Cops that also manages to dismantle the entire crime-show genre. [23 Jul 2003]

One of the funniest shows of all time. You know people at work, school, Gym, at home family that are just like the characters in this show. Also the characters write the shows together which is super rare.

Okay. Season six was bad, but season 8 is my main issue. I don't know if Comedy Central is to blame, but they put the episodes out of order. They went with episodes 1, 2, 4, 7, 5 and 6. Where the hell is episode 3? Huh?! This is one of the reasons why Firefly got cancelled on Fox. Stop putting the episodes out of order, dammit!!

The opening episode sometimes feels like a "Mad TV" sketch that's going on too long, and that doesn't bode well for the long haul. But that's not to say there's not plenty to laugh at - and even admire - in Wednesday's deadpan debut. [20 Jul 2003]

So aggressive is RENO 911!'s low-budget affect (not to mention its inconsistent pace and sometimes flat humor) that Cops looks positively polished by comparison. ... Still, and especially in its improvisational moments, RENO 911! offers occasionally engaging spontaneity.

I used to love this show, but man is season 7 absolute trash. It's typical for the cast to feign indifference, because that fits their characters. But in Season 7, the only way to explain their absolute indifference and stunning lack of investment is that they were presented with a choice — two years prison work duty, or film the shortest, **** version of a once great comedy. Damn.
