Fantastic season, A very up paced full of humour, suspense, thrill and a good story season which follow on last year star studded season and never disappoint you. The new guest cast brings in fresh flavour and new depth to the leading trio characters. Martin, Steve, Selena all were phenomenal in their role. Mabel gets to shine more in this season and she delivered it, Oliver again cracks you up with his haughty behaviour . A must watch for all mystery enthusiasts.

These side stories give you too much time to think, which means you spend more sussing out potential red herrings than paying attention to the action (Lester’s widow is played by Dianne Wiest, and heaven knows that nobody with a voice like that can be trusted in a murder comedy). And maybe this is all the point.

So even when the mystery sags, Only Murders In The Building reminds us that its purpose has changed from offering takes on the true-crime industrial complex to simply mining comedy from its capable stars. And on that front, it remains delightful as ever.

The writers have got the formula down to a fine art: assemble all the suspects and persons of interest on the chessboard, shuffle them around with each new piece of information that comes out, and give the audience just enough clues to keep them guessing while they try to figure it out.

The podcast element falls by the wayside, the proportion of red herrings to genuine progress is off, the action is too often located outside the Arconia, and the core team are too often split up. .... It still has enough flashes of the old dynamic to keep us hooked and hopeful. Martin, Short and Gomez have not lost sight of their characters, and a course correction could easily be made for season six.

There are some other enjoyable moments in a slightly enervating whole where, you suspect, our three lead actors are having a lot more fun than the audience. .... Familiarity here breeds not contempt but a sense of “so what?”.

Howard is a gay man, we get it. Any chance of developing a decent murder mystery in this murder mystery show?
The actual drawing room, solve the murder aspect of the show felt so rushed and slapped together that you'd have to completely suspend any disbelief to sincerely follow it. OMITB season 5 seemed like it had learned from the flaws of the previous season only to once again become detailed and unhinged in the finale. This show is borderline understandable at this point.
