’Marvel Zombies’ is an overall decent continuation of the comic series and What If? episode, that gives us solid gruesome action and interesting takes on our favorite heroes and villains. It also showed us just how great Blade would be in the MCU, but where it lost us a bit was taking some characters, who in live action we haven’t seen for many years, back to the beginning of their journey, and an ending that is left a little too open for what was supposed to be a one-off series. ‘Marvel Zombies’ is a fun, short ride that should appease most fans. It has some shortcomings with its story, but it did finally settle in well to this animation style and left us mostly entertained. Brad: 7.5

It’s a recognizable Marvel series, with quippy banter among an ever-growing array of powerful beings (while they’re still alive, anyway). Emotional stakes are high, there’s action all over the place, and the scale ranges from claustrophobic enclosed spaces to mass mayhem and cosmic proportions.

Giving other characters like Valkyrie, Yelena, and Red Guardian more backstory during the zombie uprising would also have resulted in more payoff. Instead, Marvel Zombies, while entertaining, never fully lives up to its potential.

Zombies is in the unenviable position of experimenting with their chemistry, and the resulting alchemy proves alarmingly inert. Even with the zombie apocalypse there to spice up their lives, Marvel’s newest heroes are less lively than the arm-munchers surrounding them.

Marvel Zombies is an ambitious attempt at bringing an R-rated edge to Marvel’s animated **** of the highlights is seeing characters who’ve never crossed paths in the movies or shows finally share the screen here. The return of heroes we haven’t seen in a while, like Shang-Chi, was a real treat. But the biggest standout is easily Blade, or rather “Blade Knight,” who steals the spotlight. If the series accomplished anything, it’s making me want a live-action Blade in the MCU as soon as possible, he’s that cool here.That said, there are several questionable plot choices that hold the series back. The ending feels especially abrupt and jarring. The humour also misses the mark more often than not, coming across as forced and undermining the darker tone the show seems to be aiming for.Overall, Marvel Zombies delivers on gore and spectacle, but it’s held back by uneven storytelling and tonal inconsistencies. It won’t leave a lasting impression, but for fans of Marvel and horror, it’s a decent enough watch.

Wow, goofy jokes and characters nobody cares about. Who thought Kamala would fit in here, and people want to see Riri once again? Blade should lead, as only he fits here. Many missed possibilities and **** ending! New level of cringe. The people who wrote this story no longer have functioning brains - wrote by zombies or mindless hacks. PROS: Stylish animation, good action, gore.
