Just trust me, this show is super-funny.

Divorced at 42, with two young daughters he dotes on, Louie is too sour and smart to be a true sad sack, but his ambling acid-laced misadventures have a raw and revealingly witty electricity, especially when he's sparring with his comedian buddies.

I recently watched my first episode of Louie after hearing about Louis CK for quite a while. I then binge watched seasons 1,2 and 3. This series is impossible to codify which is one reason I love it so much. He has created a little world with all the complexity, disappointment, levity, perplexity and downright nuttiness of life. I have also binge watched his specials and his disarming, "we're all in on the secret" approach to some very touchy subjects is so engaging and nakedly honest it's impossible to dislike this guy. Kudos to Louie!

Those looking for cheap laughs will be sorely disappointed. Appreciating this show requires that the viewer understands it's intent. It is not about making you laugh. It is a commentary on life, depression, relationships, responsibilities, and failure/success. It is dark and unapologetic, but if there is one person you should be able to relate to in life, it's Louie.

Often profane and occasionally offensive, Louie won't be to every viewer's taste, but it's a more interesting show than many with a definitive point of view.

Louie isn't a learning-and-hugging show by any means; but amid all of C.K.'s cocky bluster and politically incorrect language, there are plenty of rich moments of respite, when people with polarized world views actually hear and like one another.

This series, perhaps because there are some standards, even though it's on late and on FX, is gentler and has potential. But somebody needs to step in and tell Louis to round up a few friends and save his stand-up for the comedy specials.

Louie is so low-key that it has no discernible pulse. To say it's unfunny is accurate (profoundly so) but also beside the point: It's un-anything.

WATCH THIS SHOW. Louis C.K. is absolutely brilliant. What makes this show shine is the original feel this show has. Constantly shifting from five star drama to gut-busting comedy this show keeps you begging for more. The creator of the show, Louis C.K. has almost limitless creative freedom over his show. Its shows in the fact that the show has no rhyme or reason. Some episodes are serious others are ridiculous. It literally feels like every episode is its own entity with random pieces of cohesion and other parts are completely unrelated. Typically "raunchy" comedies make me mad. For example I HATE movies like The Hangover, Superbad, or any modern day James Franco- Seth Rogen bullcrap. This show doesn't go long without poop jokes and shock humor but for some unexplainable reason, Louie NAILS it and I love it. I would of never thought that I would ever like a show like this, but I'm in love. Give it a chance even if you aren't a fan of stupid humor. There is an impossible to explain charm that will easily steal your heart. Thank you Louie C.K.

Louie is one of those shows that you are suppose to identify with the character.Well, unless you're forty plus year old divorced Father of two girls that's from New York then I doubt you will relate to any of Louie's problems.Personally,I am A young, single Guy from California and to myself New York looks like A foreign country to **** for the comedy, most of the funny parts have to do with His comedy routine like when He's at the comedy club and something happens **** rest are just awkward, embarrassing moments that I don't personally find funny and I usually turn my head when something like that ****,I am saying it is worth watching, but I really could not relate to much of the show which is why it doesn't score higher for myself.Perhaps you will and if you can this show is for you.

Louis is a show about the comedian Louis C.K. The humor focuses on the mundane and dark aspects of humanity. It is sharp and funny, but not nearly as good as critics and reviews suggest.

An extremely self-aware, sometimes funny stick in the mud. Season 1 of Louie's cons outweigh its pros.

The main star is not effective in his comedic delivery. It has much potential, but lacks in many aspects. If it could have more substance, it would be a show with potency. For now... it is nothing. Not bad, not good, not mediocre. Just nothing.
