What this show offers instead are some wholesome and attainable role models. ... Your average too-cool-for-school 15-year-old will find plenty to sneer at, but challenge them to sit through Julie’s first solo musical number, a piano ballad at the end of the first episode, with dry eyes.

Julie is full of great performances, peppy pop songs, and a solid storyline we’re excited to dig into.

Uplifting series with some great fresh music that stick in your head. Addicting to all ages. Can see this series going in all different directions with their plots. (Maybe Nintendo Switch can get the dances and music in their Just Dance). Already has a huge fan base. If you like High School Musical and Descendants by Kenny Ortega, this will be a winner also! Hopefully Season 2 will be coming soon!

With an infectious guitar-infused pop soundtrack and a goofy-cute trio of kindly Emo Ken spirits to drive the fun, nine-episode Julie and the Phantoms rises from kiddie shlock to buoyant family entertainment.

Superior to a Disney Channel, three-camera sitcom, each episode features a couple of original tunes that should get toes tapping.

No, none of this makes any sense even within the vague guidelines of mystical nonsense, and sure, their ghost adventures become very silly, very quickly. But who cares! “Julie and the Phantoms” is just fun and adorable enough for none of that to really matter.

The series recaptures the earnest, music-filled appeal of the High School Musical franchise far better than the sequel series Disney+ released last year. And what Julie And The Phantoms lacks in depth, it makes up for with an endearing cast and endlessly catchy pop tunes. Just be prepared to get a lot of new songs stuck in your head.

The result is an overly familiar series that might capture tweens with its pop-rock earworms and cute boys, but also suffers from underdeveloped characters and stalled narrative tension.

Julie and the Phantoms is a beautiful series. The plot is literally perfect. The mix between drama, love and music makes the series one of my favorites. I saw this series last Week 3 times. I'm just waiting of season 2

It is a beautiful and emotional story that reminds us a lot the Disney Channel teenage classics since it has the same director of High School Musical and Descendants (I already downloaded the Season 1 album in iTunes!) but since it’s Netflix now he has more liberty to put discuss themes such as death and grief and work with a little more diversity such as showing an assumed LGBT+ couple. As someone who watched this new series and the original Brazilian one I can tell this one is way better, Kenny Ortega never disappoints us, and I loved the cast and the original songs!
