In short it is as good as people say. The characters are lovable, the story is great, the humor is excellent and it is full of ideas. The story of the whole show is about the summer vacation of the twins Dipper and Mabel Pines. They travel to Gravity Falls a small rural town in Oregon where their Gruncle (= Great Uncle) Stan has a tourist trap called the Mystery Shack. However the town, its people and surroundings have a lot of mysteries. Season 1 sets up the characters, town and lore. While I find the first few episodes slightly weaker it got amazing and it won me easily over. The stories set up a general arc while dealing with the characters and their relations. Each one is relatable in their struggles, worldviews and quirks. I rarely liked a whole cast this much with Dipper, Mabel, Stan, Wendy, Soos, Gideon, Bill and the whole townspeople. The mixture of good story arcs and great likable characters are a strength of the show (Or for every good show to be precise). The humor and entertainment is top notch. Presentation wise the animations, art style and voice actors are amazingly good. I have nothing to complain. Overall I was curious first and was fully convinced fast. A great show and as much for adults as for children. An easy 10/10 for me.

Gravity Falls is my all time favorite animated show and one of my top 5 favorite shows of all time. The animation is exceptional, the character and creature designs are phenomenal I love how the show combines cool, cute, weird, and creepy creatures in the show. The ensemble of performances are superb especially from Kristen Schaal, Alex Hirsch, Jason Ritter, Linda Cardellini, Jennifer Coolidge, Carl Faruolo, Thurop Van Orman, John Oliver, Niki Yang, T.J. Miller, Lance Bass, Brian Bloom, Matt Chapman, Alfred Molina, John DiMaggio, Gregg Turkington, Will Forte, Keith Ferguson, Larry King, Jackie Buscarino, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Stephen Root. The writing is outstanding, so funny and the weirdness of the show is just terrific. Also the music is great. An A+ first season.
