I actually watched through the show and even the Christmas special as a whole because of all the woke Era new shows this certainly isn't one of the worst . There are some really interesting characters , Rue herself, the drug dealer, the secret life dad etc . But just when I was fine with all the Christmas special reminded me what is so messed up about the whole woke Era. Rue , while still grieving over her white dad , gets some anti white malcolm x tirade from her AA sponsor. Followed by, yes , relationship advice about her , and her (Trans etc ) girlfriend from a new found Muslim here . That's not the real world Hollywood. Palestine is not a great place for you snowflakes . This Era is nonsensical at times , and it seeps over into everything. Even if a really woke show is at times we'll written , it's ruined .

For me this is how you do it. I can't muster a single problem with it, that's worth mentioning, given the end result. It's the type of show that is so original and unique that you either love it or you hate it, but in whatever direction you go, it would be with a fiery passion. It is one of the very few TV series that sets my bar for a great show.

I really like this show. A lot of boomers, should have watch movies like these to see what is the big reality in our life. It is a Teen Drama, but one of the best in the market. Amazing show.

Pretty good. I think it did a great job in representing a wide variety of minorities and groups in general, which is great to see, especially given that the show has a lot more to it, from an engagement standpoint. There are some lessons that the show imparts and tries to touch on, like addiction, but i think the strength of the show is in the wild drama. It is maybe as intense as an action movie with 1% of the violence, because it's so active. The ambiance in the show is also cool. From the perspective of a show or artwork that reenacts the coming of age crowd, Euphoria definitely moves the genre in a new, more subversive direction, and expands the possibility in the genre.

Awful depictions of teen sexual violence, drug abuse and nudity i found absolutely disgusting and could not enjoy the show. Too much shock material.

If you are looking for deep and engaging characters, find another show. It's like the OC with no personality. Generation Z is called Generation Z because it will likely be the last generation on the planet because it will be run by people that don't care about anything but reactions, pranks and dressing like they are a part of Pee Wee's Playhouse.

One of the most realistic TV shows I have ever watched. It feels so real and the acting is so so good. Zendaya really gives a emotional performance, with some of the characters like Nate you just hate him which is a good thing I am emotinally invested into this show and I can't wait to see more

The BEST SHOW 2022! Second season better than first. The direction, writing, acting PERFECT! Intelligent, thought provoking, teen drama.

The cinematography is amazing and really inventive, everything from set-pieces to period piece episodes engages the audience. The first season started out very strong, but it ended up leaving me with questions. The two specials were substanceless and made me weary for the second season. I still approached with excitement as the show is captivating and worth a watch. However, halfway through it loses the plot and becomes obvious if not boring. When watching tv shows I personally always think of rewatchability and with season 2's end, they make it clear none of the plot development will be rewarded and thus not worth revisiting.

Overwrought. Melodramatic. More like Requiem for a Dream than Trainspotting. These characters are all surprisingly joyless for teenagers. The bits about addiction ring true because they're obviously from the creator's personal experience, but just about everything else about it doesn't work. It's overly sentimental and fails to give us a reason to care about any of the characters. Inexplicably, season 2 of the show centers the last two episodes around a minor character that has barely been in the show up until that point. In theory that sounds interesting, but in practice it means it's impossible to care about her. The cinematography has an identifiable style and generally looks pretty good, but the writing/editing indulges in way too many post-modernist devices: voice-over narration, breaking the 4th wall, flashbacks, cutaways, non-linear storytelling. Postmodernism in film is completely played out and I'm so **** tired of seeing filmmakers rely on it to make their storytelling seem more interesting than it really is. Last complaint is that the people on the show are too pretty and glossy. They cast the hottest people alive which completely undermines any sense of realism. Teenagers are generally **** gross and Euphoria totally fails to capture that. You can contrast it with a show like Skins where several of the characters look awkward or disgusting.

Euphoria's inaugural season was complex to say the least. Season one held high highs and low lows with the majority of its positives coming in the way of acting and cinematography. Still, the first season left me with a feeling of dissatisfaction with the majority of the whole while still holding out hope that the true themes of the drug epidemic, teenage sexuality, and young adulthood would shine through in its second outing. Unfortunately Euphoria season 2 takes what the first season built and plunges into a horrific nose dive into what could very well be to the definition of "bad taste". This may be an intentional choice by the showrunners, but there hasn't been an episode where I felt like I was watching a show with a message. Most of it is simply unpleasant to bear witness to. While the cinematography and performances tend to shine the brightest, (particularly in Zendaya's Rue), the show caves in on itself due to the weight of its own lust for misery.

It's an entire world populated by undesirable, self-involved people, and then places them in scenarios where their worst traits destroy them. These characters take themselves wayyy too seriously. It's a dour, gristly, humorless undertaking perhaps for teenage viewers who also want to learn to take themselves more seriously than they should.

Series one of this show is some of the best TV i have ever seen. It takes tons of characters and gives them enough screen time to flesh them out and give them purpose. Zendaya slays as Rue, a 17 year old dealing with the implications of drug abuse. everyone else is brilliant too, but Zendaya's performance felt real and authentic compared to thers like Kat and Maddy. This show is special in so many ways of which would take an eternity to describe but one of the ways is its themes of addiction and depression. It really encapsulates the feeling of existential dread in so many ways and i love it

This HBO production is so authentic, heartfelt and gripping that no words I can up with would do it justice. Even though the story lines revolve mostly around the lives of teenagers, people of all ages and generations will relate to the themes of the struggle to find one's identity, addictions, depression, anxiety, love and loss. My only caveat is that this subject matter may be triggering for those currently experiencing or struggling with these issues . But if you can navigate some very uncomfortable feelings, it is a series that people can actually find informative and inspirational.

It's ****'s not something revolutionary like some claim it to be. At times it is straight-up creepy and so disconnected from what actual teenage life is

Don't trust the pearl-clutching critics who were afraid of this show. It's amazing. If you like TV shows that smell like roses and make you feel bubbly inside, maybe look elsewhere. This is like Last Exit to Brooklyn with high schoolers. Buckle up.

A Teen Drama that uses cliché characters from other TV series. But they place them on their most extreme and dark side and that´s what gives them a unique personality and aesthetic to this show. 8.5/10 Highlights: 1) the amazing performances of the cast, especially from Zendaya and Jacob Elordi. 2) The soundtrack (Labrinth) 3) The cinematography (Marcell Rév)

Euphoria explores the taboo themes of today's contemporary society showing the effects of using and abusing drugs at a young age, Zendaya's performance is breathtaking feeling every emotion from the character "Rue", the amazing ensemble in this tv series is amazing always keeping you on the edge of your seat wanting more and to see what happened next, from the amazing sequence that builds up the amazing world to just drag you back down to earth to remind you that this is a real-life situation which affects a large percentage of people. Overall Euphoria is an amazing series and a must-watch.

I really liked Euphoria and it is definitely a shining example in a genre (teen drama) that can sometimes feel super lacklustre. The main highlights are acting, cinematography and the music. There's numerous different characters in the show and they are all perfectly believable especially in a show where so much range is required. It looks beautiful which I honestly think is many HBO shows biggest strength. The colours in this are fantastic and really hold true to the saying of every frame a painting. Finally, Labrinth does a great job on the soundtrack of this show and it really adds to the emotion of many scenes. The only weaknesses of the show is that sometimes it feels very melodramatic and over-the-top (seriously Nate is like a caricature of a villain, he reminds of the bullies from 13 reasons why and I hated that show for not being believable). Additionally, the season finale was a bit of a mess and overstuffed. However, overall it's a show that's really good viewing and I for sure will check out season 2.

I dont know, im an older guy (40ish) so I dont know if this show should be for me, but for a long time its the first show i really felt moved by. Overall I was amazed by it. The characters and emotions just felt authentic, even if my own youth was more reserved, tough i dabbled abit in this and that :). Yes its graphic and shocking at times, but for me it all serves a purpose. I reccomend for anyone looking for a quality, moving show.

Yes, it's pretty near to a standard MTV-esque teen drama in terms of story but it's elevated quite a bit by it's cinematography, music, and final episode. A full story was told and I applaud it for that. The characters became more rounded and dynamic than you might expect in a teen drama. Regarding cinematography, the lighting specifically was so hyper real it almost de-immersed me at times, but in a good way? I'm a **** for eye candy (Snyder films are a guilty pleasure) so this show won me over on that alone, but there's also some good character building and some real standout concept episodes here. Would recommend.

Had such amazing production, fitting cast and stunning makeup. It follows the lives of highschool kids, yet it shows a side of them that was not always presented in other highschool shows or movies. They did such an amazing job with the writing. Also, following each character for an episode, and the way that they had to create a plot for that character to actually allow them to have a perfect opening and an interesting episode to follow.
