Worth the wait. It’s a cracking crime caper that takes the family comedy of Schitt’s Creek and whips it into a wicked, pitch-black thriller.

The joy of Big Mistakes is watching the chaos unfold. Nicky and Morgan have a terrific back and forth, and their banter has an effortless sense of naturalism that makes it easy to believe these characters have known one another all their lives. Their increasing incredulity as they fall deeper into a life of crime they have no desire to be in is strangely intoxicating.

Most comedies try to be funny. Big Mistakes doesn’t try—it just destroys you. This isn’t your safe, predictable Netflix comedy. It’s chaotic, sharp, and completely unhinged in the best way possible. The humor doesn’t wait for permission—it hits fast, unexpected, and keeps stacking one ridiculous moment over another. What really works is the unpredictability. Just when you think you know where it’s going, it flips the script and goes somewhere even crazier. And somehow, it still makes sense. That’s not easy—and this show makes it look effortless. The writing stays tight, the timing is on point, and the characters feel like they’re one bad decision away from complete disaster… which is exactly what makes it so entertaining. Final Verdict: Not just funny—dangerously funny. You don’t watch this calmly, you survive it. Cinema wins. Mediocrity loses.

Very, very few modern shows have managed to captivate me this much. Big Mistakes has absolutely been worth the wait. It's one of the most enjoyable shows I've seen in a good while. The casting is impeccable, every single actor and actress did an absolutely amazing job. I genuinely don't know why other people are complaining about multiple storylines- isn't the whole point of the series to show the chaos into which the character's lives have descended into? It just makes the story so much richer, more complex and more real. I'm not kidding when I say I *loved* the show. To be able to make something this entertaining, captivating, witty and funny? So, so so good. For everyone involved, congratulations. I will be recommending to everyone!

This is a well-oiled comedy machine. It’s also fast, another quality it shares with screwballs of yore. The storytelling is good enough, with some clever turns and a nice amount of the aforementioned character transformation. But the quality of the writing stands out more within each scene than over the narrative arc.

Bad Mistakes works mostly because we like watching Levy and Ortega’s chemistry as siblings, and we’ll always be there to see Laurie Metcalf do her thing. We’re just wondering how silly things are going to get during this show’s first season.

The domestic cringe comedy at its heart means Big Mistakes is far from a major error, but it isn’t quite a triumph either. Perhaps that’s inevitable. They may seem like a safer bet for a risk-averse TV industry, but shows made by stars can rarely compete with the ones that make them.

Big Mistakes has a very good cast, often clever dialogue and (if only because nothing really makes sense) frequent surprises, so it all comes down to how much you’re willing to suspend your disbelief while watching a generally unsubstantial comedy.

The consistent tone of “Big Mistakes” is rancor. Unrelieved. All of it umbrella-ed by a title that invites Morelli-style snark.

How many things can go wrong when you take something that doesn’t belong to you? Plenty. The misfortunes that befall a preacher and his sister are enough to make for a comedy of errors.

Easy 7+ Would take too long to get into all that is happening in Big Mistakes. No need. Just a lot of fun, lots of heart and complete chaos... what's not to like?
