It's not the romcom that's so entertaining, anyway; it's the slapstick.

James takes his comic lumps like a man. His Griffin suffers injuries and indignities and lets us laugh at him as he does. No matter where the script wanders and where the direction founders, at some point, James' comic instincts take over. And this time, they don't let him down.

Stop hating the characters and just be positive! It's flawed but fascinating! Kevin James and the rest of the wisecracking animals make this film shine. Although this is little kids comedy and reliant on slapstick humour and silly little kids jokes, it's still fun to watch! It's also really good at in-depth character analysis, finding out who you really are and who the true love of your life is. I'm a teen and I laughed several times throughout this movie. It also explores different aspects of the characters personality. So watch this if you're feeling bored. It'll cheer you up for sure! Kevin James has that funny clown's slapstick humour. Here's a tip for the parents: open up a little and focus on the films message: not how to propose someone but it's finding out who you really are and befriending others.

Zookeeper has the territory-marking scent of a franchise product from the Sandler-produced stable: pratfalls, caricature and aggression, which the likeable-enough James isn't as effective at getting laughs with as he is the more recessive, aw-shucks moments.

The film would be a moth-eaten mess without the wisecracking animals. Not that it's funny with them.

A children's comedy about talking animals that feels as if it were written by children or, perhaps, by talking animals.

It's monumentally terrible. "Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son" now has competition for worst picture of the year.

Kevin James barley made this movie watchable and the weird thing is that it seems like Adam Sandler is like a bad luck charm because almost all movies that he is involved in are all epic fails like Bucky Larson which should have ended his career just for being involved. Well the movie is dumb and lame it's a darn shame that James and Adams cant make a good movie like I Pronounce you chuck and Larry which I didn't even find remotely bad despite it's awful reviews

The guy from Paul Blart: Mall Cop, returned as a zookeeper. Pretty nice. The humor? I don't know. The concept is really inspiring, such as the plot when the animals at the zoo can talk to humans and try to secretly help a human Griffin try to woo a girl. That's the aspect of the movie I enjoyed the most. Some of the scenes, though, are a bit slow for me in my opinion, but you know what's common for me? Focusing on the story. Cause if you focus on the story more than the humor, you might be surprised on what happens next.

Better than most reviewers say, but not great. The story was good, and funny at times. The animals are the best part because they do so many unexpected things. Give it a watch, even if it has faults.

A bland Zoolander only with Kevin James as the star. At the end, you'll possibly want more when the rest of us can go crawl under our beds hoping for a sequel to not happen.
