Something about the consistency of this movie was a bit clunky. The main character just had a stern, angry frozen look on his face all the way through which quickly became exhausting. Action scenes were okay, but just far too much dramatic dialogue, grunting and groaning that took away from the “moment “. The script seemed to zoom in too much on the characters and all their emotions leaving too many voids and flaws in the plot.

Cool effects in both sound and visual, decent acting for a jarhead movie, but sadly zero thoughts were given to the authenticity of the action. The moments bullets start flying or stuff explodes the movie enters nonsensical anime territory with unbreakable tires or soldiers hanging out the door to fire their AR-15 at an alien machine that literally survived crashing on Earth. This makes friendly losses feel stupid and worthless rather than galvanizing.

It is military glorification coupled with being an awful sci-fi film. How the machine works makes zero sense. At times, it can eliminate with absolute precision. Other times, it can't hit the broadside of a barn. There is no logic behind it other than characters having plot armour. And at the end of it all, it feels like a waste of 90 minutes.

One thing about War Machine, you know exactly what you're getting into. It's a billboard for the American Military, even if the bad guy is an alien(?). It's a by-the-book sci-fi/action movie and there's nothing wrong with that. I like Alan Ritchson from Reacher, and he's perfect as the new Arnie or Willis or whoever. He's an action hero that truly looks the part. Is it deep thinky? No. No important questions were answered during the runtime of War Machine. Hell, we know nothing of what it is or why it is (unless they do a sequel, which I'm good with). I got exactly what I expected to get out of this movie - mindless fun on a Sunday afternoon.

May set the record for people screaming "INCOMING" before being blow up. Above average action and effects saddled by pure military propaganda.

It’s fine but the plot is so thin that after the ghost tailiban attack (we never see them) & the RASP training montage it gets super slow. We all know there’s a robot and that they win at the end of course they do. That’s not even a spoiler just going in of course that’s what happens. The robot has no personality and barely any style. It’s an almost pointless Predator remake imo.

War Machine is pure popcorn sci-fi chaos—in the best way. The story isn’t super deep, but the explosions, tension, and nonstop action make it a seriously fun watch. If you’re in the mood for a loud, fast sci-fi action ride, this one definitely delivers. GO Watch it!!!

Quite entertaining action flick, but cliched and cheesy as hell hehehe The action is solid and visual effects are alright. There's room for a sequence

Alan Ritchson's portrayal of the classic American Hero is quite compelling. However, beyond a moderately intriguing premise, War Machine fails to deliver a narrative that feels fresh or particularly memorable. Fortunately, the film compensates to some extent with its abundant, well-executed action sequences and impressive visual effects, which help to offset the lack of narrative depth.

The story is beyond cliched and silly. Every character beyond the main one is paper thin. Barely passable as a mindless action flick but the US Army "America is Best" rubbish drags it down below that. Netflix should really try to do better than this drivel.

(Mauro Lanari) The angelic Ritchson, with his "InstaChurch" YT channel where he talks about his faith and supports the development of Christian films in Hollywood, and here as a US elite soldier? A damn dangerous combo: militarism blessed by God. Quaid at 71 portraying a hard-as-nails sergeant? The most sci-fi element of the movie. "Predator" is from 1987, Hughes is no McTiernan, and the cast headlined by Schwarzy was on a whole different level.

War Machine was a good film. The rigorous tests soldiers must endure make you respect them even more, regardless of their character flaws. The movie also delivered a strong twist that added to the overall suspense. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I would recommend this film to anyone looking for an intense watch.

Aliens! Want to Know More? This is a mix of a high-quality action movie and generic alien invasion stuff—only the invasion doesn’t actually happen yet. This movie gives us a little taste of something actually missing in the film industry: alien movies with a big “hell yeah, dude” strapped onto them. The only bad thing about the film is some of the music, the acting, I guess, and a few story plot points. BUT, and this is a big BUT, it is hella entertaining to watch, and yes, I would like to see the full-scale alien invasion sequel that would come after this film. So Netflix, shut the **** up and give me the damn sequel. And if you do it right, I might just raise the score of this film. I recommend this to anyone who needs to watch a sci-fi alien-type film and doesn’t really care about the story, but just wants to see badass action and a mixture of non-predictable scenes mixed with generic ones. We need more films like these that actually do Sci-fi alien stuff, I like it, and to behonest its one of the few that does it well enough that it's not unrealistic. This **** reminds me of Resistance, and at Times it even feels like it. I just want to make one more note about the action scenes, they are not too bad, good actually, and I want to see more of that in the sequel. I will now start praying that Netflix actually gives us the next film and doesn't **** it up...Sorry, I really like Aliens Sci-Fi films, I've been starved for years. 7/10 — Yes, I would like to know more, and I would recommend.

If any actor were built to be the ultimate action hero, it’s Alan Ritchson. This has been proven by his tough-ass role as Reacher on Amazon **** hasn’t exactly been an easy route to get there however, as one point he had to show his toughness playing Raphael in two Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles flicks, before he could flex, without the shell, playing Hawk in the superhero TV series Titans. This role then is his calling, playing a soldier who is tough as he comes, and he needs to be.... I liked it quite a lot because it really reminded me of the kind of action movies I used to watch on Friday nights after coming home from partying, the kind with Schwarzenegger, Stallone, or Van Damme. It has that pumped-up B-movie energy, that raw survival mood, that feeling of hard men thrown into an impossible situation and forced to endure however they **** can also spot some very clear echoes of other things I love. There is that one-by-one elimination feel that brings Deliverance to mind, and also Predator, with the sense that the threat is wiping everyone out almost effortlessly. And then there are moments of combat and tension that really evoke Aliens, especially when the action becomes more physical and exaggerated.Alan Ritchson is also an easy win for me. I already want to watch him in a movie like this, and here he delivers what you expect from him: presence, force, and enough charisma to carry a story that, to be honest, is not exactly overflowing with originality. But I do not think that is really its priority **** movie is not sophisticated, and it does not pretend to be. It goes straight for what it wants: action, tension, noise, muscle, gunfire, and constant threat. And within that territory, it works pretty well. I do not think this is one of those films you need to overanalyze; it is more one of those you enjoy if you connect with this kind of direct, unapologetic action **** is true that it relies on many familiar formulas and that not every member of the cast carries the same weight. You can also feel that it is built out of very visible influences. Even so, it has pace, it holds up well, and it knows how to give you exactly that kind of rough entertainment that sometimes feels especially satisfying.Overall, I liked it because it brings back a kind of action movie that you do not always see so often now, and that, every once in a while, feels great. It may not be a masterpiece, but it is a very enjoyable film if you accept its game and that wild old video-store spirit.

A great cast and production budget weren't enough to carry the audience to the finish line. Much like the protagonist, the film fails to reach the target falling short on each attempt. As with all moster Vs army squad pictures , much of the tension comes from the threat of the antagonists. Here we have a terrible, terrible design that just doesn't bring anything substantial to the mood. If you can put that aside, for a genre piece it's not half bad and certainly will entertain especially if you're a fan of the cast. Either a waste of time or time well wasted depending on your viewpoint!

Ok, so I liked the movie, despite being an Army vet. It's a Predator ripoff without the fun characters. This movie in a nutshell: it's as if it was written by a committee of airsofters and neckbeard Redditors.

What a trip! Excellent pacing - akin to the very best 1980s action blockbusters and top-notch special effects. Those helicopters look SO real. It felt like a mix between First Blood, the Terminator and Predator. its VERY jingoistic and predictable in places but God bless those American rangers

Not bad, but not good either! Are the Americans on an army recruitment drive atm? Transformers in a Predator style, but without the decent CGI or direction, and some mostly lame acting. The script was pretty awful throughout! I didn't care about the people at all, and the machine was like something out of the 90s! I wouldn't be rushing to watch it again!

Reminds me of the first Predator movie. Good action. Nothing new here. Plot works though. Our view is: "go ahead and watch, it could be fun."

Entertaining and somehow poignant, sci fi action is meant to be a 'dumb' melding between Predator and 'Metal Gear', yet Ricthson brough a soulful performance into what could have been a 'one note character'. The direction is no slouch either as the flick caught on why Predator or Terminator became such classics: how the $%# can you kill this machine? Netflix in 2026 is essentially killing it, and this is another hit on their ever improving movie library.

War Machine doesn't do anything special or **** plot is extremely predictable, the characters are bland, the dialogue and writing is incredibly cheesy, and the blatant America military propaganda is shoved in your face. However, if you take the film for what it is trying to be, an entertaining popcorn flick, it does do its job fine. A Metal Gear vs Alan Ritchson It has some enjoyable action set-pieces and Alan Ritchson is a good main lead. It's a serviceable streaming movie that will keep you entertained for its runtime.

Solid action flick. I would say it's a throwback to 80s and 90s action movies but it has way too much backstory and main character development for that. There's a lot of comparisons to Predator online and I can see it, but unfortunately most of the side character don't get much to do but get waxed. I like the addition of the APC chase and a couple other actions pieces but I think this movie could have used a couple things to really make it pop. First, I'm surprised that they were still only being chased by one Mech, because they seemed to be alluding to that there was more than one. Secondly, to really set it apart from Predator, how about they finally exit the wilderness to find out that civilization has been destroyed. Their home base is wiped out and all communication gone, really setting up an unknown for a sequel. I'm just glad to see original sci-fi action films like this that aren't afraid to get a little b*lls-to-the-w*lls.

This movie was an excellent Alan Ritchson movie. I really enjoyed the back story of 81 and why he's so driven to complete his mission. 81 is pretty fleshed out, but the rest of the characters you don't really get to know too well. It's a great action movie. I liked the acting in it. I hope they make a sequel of this movie. Definitely kept it open for one.

The story and casting could have been much better, but the film is well directed and entertaining. Alan Ritchson's role should have been given to someone younger who can actually act, because there are a few moments in the film where it really matters, and Alan obviously fails since he can't portray any emotions beyond hunger and anger. In the second half of the movie there's a bit of a Predator vibe, and overall the film is "not bad", which already means something in the current movie crisis. Unfortunately, you still have to endure the terrible ending, which is the usual Hollywood garbage.
