A good-looking and entertaining British horror film.

This shocker from Hammer Films rival Amicus Productions stars horror icon Peter Cushing and includes a "werewolf break" for you to guess who the monster is. Sort of like Ellery Queen, but with a really hairy back. Damned fun. [31 Oct 2006, p.E1]

When The Beast Must Die is ripping off The Most Dangerous Game, it’s an amusing, if minor, genre offering.

The Amicus studio is better known for omnibus horror films like Torture Garden and Tales from the Crypt, and this flaccid feature suggests they would have done better to stick to that winning formula.

A rather sorry excuse for a horror film--even Peter Cushing's distinguished presence doesn't help.
