My god how wrong I was about this chapter! I really didn't think this was going to land for me but I ended up loving absolutely EVERYTHING in this movie. The casting, the visuals, the plot and development . . . everything was absolutely spot on! They even tied into "What-if" issues of the Marvel comics! I couldn't have been more glued to this movie if I hadn't watched it multiple times like I obviously did! Fantastic movie and an Amazing Spider-Man!

This movie was amazing! I don't get it why people hate it so much. Andrew Garfield is simply the best Spider-Man and Emma Stone killed it as Gwen Stacy.

The good news is that Garfield and Stone whip up a warm, convincing froth as two teenagers caught up in a beguiling case of puppy love. The not-so-great news is that by "reboot," the studio means taking audiences once again through every step of Peter's transformation into Spider-Man.

Graced with great performances from Garfield and Stone, The Amazing Spider-Man is a rare comic-book flick that is better at examining relationships than superheroism. If it doesn't approach the current benchmark of Avengers Assemble, it still delivers a different enough, enjoyable origin story to live comfortably alongside the Raimi era.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a watchable movie, with a pretty good story, but terrible dialogues. The writing is very mixed. The themes are great, the story is intriguing enough, but the dialogues are terrible. It's enjoyable to watch the characters interact, but they are pretty one-dimensional. The directing is far from good, the cinematography is mixed. There are a few great shots, but most of them have no style, nothing in common. The editing is also mixed, because on the one hand it's hard to see what's happening in the fight scenes. On the other hand the pacing is quite good, it rarely feels flat or boring. The acting performances are just bad and that's definitely not only because of the actors. I love Andrew Garfield, but I didn't really enjoy him as Spider-Man. I liked him as Peter though. The Amazing Spider-Man can be enjoyable to watch, but I'm definitely not a fan of it.

Don't like the film the story and writing are super hit or miss everything else though is good Andrew Garfield plays Spider-Man well and I like the romance between him and Gwen.
