As far as animated films go, the script for Spark: A Space Tail is clunky but inoffensive, falling far short of your average Pixar production creatively but largely sidestepping attempts at tongue-in-cheek “adult” humor in favor of groan-worthy puns à la the title.

“Spark” should earn points for originality, but it never invests in establishing its world or its characters in a way that engages viewers.

The plot, for instance, doesn’t make all that much sense, what with its heroic space chimps and evil space apes and sly space foxes, all of whom don’t seem to realize what a half-baked narrative they’re operating in.

An utterly lifeless and profoundly unoriginal animated effort that is desperately lacking the very thing in its title.

There’s scant evidence of any creative spark in Spark: A Space Tail, a thoroughly generic, unremittingly charmless computer-animated adventure.

It’s hard to imagine that even the least demanding of tykes will ask for a second sampling of this thoroughly second-rate animated feature, which has all the charm, and twice the volume, of a barking dog.

This is one rare find I found when searching for new movies. Spark: A Space Tail is just a moderate movie to watch. It's not perfect like Zootopia or as great as The Bad Guys. It's just ok. At least one of the real reasons why I wanted to watch that movie is because of that fox girl named Vix. I liked the premise of having a Sun Wukong in a space story. The story did not have an absolute tall tale to experience it. As interesting as it sounds having Jason Norman who also played Henry Danger in his starring role in the movie was really good. As for the movie, most of it is ok. The villain in the movie was just another goofball villain with an anticlimactic boss battle Zhong considering the fact obviously it was a show that felt out of budget just like the combat fighting scene. I expected to have this movie to a ton of martial arts in space but this movie did not meet expectations. I hope they make a sequel with the martial arts added.

It's awful. The animation is ugly to look at. The characters aren't interesting and have no wit or charm. Jace Norman is by far the worst part of this movie. Not a good family movie. Go watch "The Fate of the Furious" instead.
