This isn’t just a great horror story; it’s genuinely scary. You may be able to recognize familiar elements in its DNA, but it’s mutated into something distinct and unsettling. What a showcase of shocks. What a devilish debut.

The combination of a committed central performance from the increasingly gaunt and haunted Bacon, and a jarring, tortured score, makes for an enjoyably nasty brush with the smiling face of evil.

Que filme bom e efetivamente assustador e angustiante, direção perfeita e atuações boas.

Smile is a disorienting, anxiety-inducing nightmare that leaves you questioning everything you see. The scares feel over-abundant at first, with feints and fake-outs almost laughably frequent, but they eventually create a creeping paranoia that nothing is quite as it seems.

Indeed, Smile, at its best, is a bit weirder and more left-field than you may expect. Following the recent release of Barbarian, it’s continuing this year’s trend of seemingly well-polished, potentially anonymous studio horrors having much more inspired, hidden ambitions than other high-profile contemporaries.

Considering every horror film these days seems to be “about trauma”, Smile suffers from never evolving past the basics – that trauma begets trauma and, if left unchecked and unexamined, can consume a person’s life.

It should surprise no one that a movie marketed with creepy smiling fans at MLB games might not actually have genuine concerns about pain and healing on its mind. But it still makes “Smile” a cynical and shallow piece of work unlikely to put a you-know-what on too many faces.

Esse filme não é nem um pouco inovador, mas é legal. Esse ideia é interessante pra 2 ou 3 filmes.

Super basic. The script is boring and awful. Cinematography is so over the top it ruins any tension it attempts to build. The actors are okay. The first scene is the best part. If you've never seen a horror film before, specifically Japanese horror like Ringu and Ju-on, you might find this interesting, but it does nothing new and doesn't do what it's copying very well.

Dull poorly directed predictable horror film let down by its average cast and unintelligent screenplay. With no star talent to hook onto, not even the cheap audio jump scares, gory violence and maximum Dutch titling shots were enough to keep me watching and I bailed around 40 mins in. Didn't want to waste anymore time on this forgettable low brow **** Hollywood forgetting how to make films or something?
