Rubikon never offers viewers deep answers to its bigger questions, but it does pose enough questions to keep things moving while you watch.

While the ensuing sense of despair that overwhelms the drama is credible, it does bring with it a certain sense of torpor that makes the film a bit of a grind in the midsection.

Rubikon chamber European Sci-Fi. Rubikon is a specific Sci-Fi, there is no expensive CGI, there are no stars of the first magnitude. It's European cinema. He's betting on something completely different. And this budget can scare away most viewers. Well, immediately the scenery is literally made of cardboard, there is no expected "gravity" on the aircraft. Rubikon is a chamber thriller about the feelings of 3 people in a confined space without the ability to somehow influence the fate of dying humanity. That's the value of Rubikon as a movie. It's about feelings, not "Hollywood" patriotism and pathos. Rubikon is a bad Sci-Fi, but it's a great chamber drama. I don't know these actors, I don't watch auter movies. But I believe these actors, they were great in this movie. Rubikon is an example of the fact that you can make a great movie for a small budget, and Sci-Fi here is nothing more than scenery.

A good science fiction movie is like a book from Ray Bradbury or Stanislaw Lem. Contra - a very viscous and slow narration. Pro - moral and social dilemmas.

The dialogue-heavy scenario robs the film of some tension, but the conversations are often quite exciting.

What should be one of the most adrenaline-pinching films of the year has about as much tension as a K-Mart commercial.

Rubikon’s plot crash-lands while its sincere intentions are left spinning fruitlessly in space, looking for a way back down.

However thoughtful and well-intentioned, this debut feature is too airless and long-winded to excite.

This is a decent, slow paced science fiction thriller about astronauts trapped on an orbital station while a crisis unfolds on Earth. There are plenty of plot twists, with a dash of cyberpunk to spice it up. Worth a watch when there's nothing more pressing in your queue.

Classic idea, and medium-low cost, but neatly done, with a realistic feel (no US style nonsense) and charismatic main character, and solid acting.

OK, I really need to say some things about this movie. 1- The production value is splendid. Great visuals, great cinematography, great production design. Best part of the movie without a doubt. 2- The writting... well, that could be better. Makes the direction and the acting feel forced. Or maybe it's the other way around... It is just... OK. Some things work better than others, but ithinkt's quite a space clichè "greatest hits". 3- Despite all this, I think the movie was made with hard work and passion, and I'd like to encourage everyone involved to stay on track, cause it's only a few (100s) steps away from being great. I'm gonna do some digging and see who's exactly behind the wheel, so I make sure I'll be checking out whatever they release next.

Why does this feel like yet another Covid movie? Bad acts and just too lame story. Never gets interesting.
