Pound of Flesh

Pound of Flesh should reasonably satisfy his core fans, even if they're more likely to watch it on VOD than in theaters.

The action hit being evoked here is "Crank."

A solid if occasionally silly B-picture of the sort that JCVD used to make, before “JCVD” suggested there might be more to him than mere “Muscles from Brussels.”

Barbarash doesn’t do much to compensate for the misshapen script, either. Fumbling camerawork and incoherent editing rob the film’s generous fight sequences of their oomph, and amateurish green screen hobbles a car-chase sequence.

[A] third-rate, run-of-the-mill actioner, which, for some reason, was edited to look like an episode of “CSI.”

Worth the price of admission to see Van Damme do a split against a moving car, otherwise standard straight to video action schlock
