It’s the psychological duel between the terrific Isaac and Kingsley as captor and prisoner that delivers the film’s most charged jolts of electricity.

Notoriously remembered as a mastermind of the Final Solution, Eichmann was also infamous for the just-following-orders dispassion he maintained all the way through his trial, a banality that Kingsley channels expertly.

Operation Finale is a highly effective spy thriller that focuses more on procedural matters than action-- ie how the capture of Eichmann occurred, including a look inside the team who accomplished it. It presents the issue of the banality of evil, but also includes real-world information about Eichmann that Hannah Arendt overlooked when she made her case. The story is fully engaging and more thoughtful than crowd pleasers like Mission Impossible. I do not understand all the negative reviews, unless they are motivated by animus against the topic.

This movie is interesting, suspenseful, and well-acted. One aspect that relates to current events was Eichmann's attempts to relocate people the **** considered undesirable to other countries. Other countries would not accept them. This could relate to what is happening at our own American border.

The film works best when at its simplest — two brilliant actors sparring with each other, Kingsley attempting to justify the horrific, Issac attempting to stay human and just while grappling with the embodiment of the Third Reich’s unfathomable legacy.

Despite the fact that the movie is stocked to the gills with screen talent — both Nick Kroll and Melanie Laurent stand out as fellow team members; Simon Russell Beale’s cameo as David Ben-Gurion deserves its own three-hour movie — it’s really a two-man job.

It’s a shame the filmmakers felt constrained by the import of their subject matter, rather than inspired to take some artistic risks. But even when the storytelling falters, the story itself — not merely extraordinary, but eternally relevant — remains paramount.

Rather than the cagey, caged mastermind who later would play dumb at trial, this Eichmann is just another movie bad guy — and Operation Finale is just another movie.

The debate over the utility of violence and the dignity owed prisoners of war has raged since time immemorial, and recent developments have only amplified the decibel level. Operation Finale zeroes in on these complex dynamics, only to erase their nuance.

I really enjoyed this film. I'm a huge fan of based on a true story movies and this one was a story I wasn't aware existed. Ben Kingsley is a crazy good actor that in Schindler's List he plays a Jewish man under the **** regime and in this one play one of the worst ****. Bravo!

I liked the work of Oscar Isaac and Ben Kingsley, but even in the face of what the film does well in handling this true story, what it offers in handling entertainment is merely ordinary and devoid of real emotion. It may be counterproductive to say that such a story shouldn't be ''entertaining'' but this is still a movie and what it proposes is just ordinary.
Well made, but totally ordinary.

Operation Finale is a very interesting and pleasant film. However, the film has some flaws, first of all the unconvincing Oscar Isaac's acting. It is not a masterpiece but not a crap, recommended.

Kind of a drag...A very slow one. After the history channel has OVER saturated us with **** **** **** occult...Another **** film does not seem to be the answer to the bombardment of our senses. It's not a bad film, but neither is it **** utitlizes EXPENSIVE actors with shoddy editing; almost seems like they wanted to slap this together ASAP and as cheap as possible (minimalist camera angles are a fancy way of saying I didn't use enough cameras or my editor didn't spend too much time) Idk if you wanna spend to hours watching a hollywood rendition of a historical event then be my ****'s derivative, mildy entertaining, but nothing to exalt

The expectations I had for this movie were high, considering the great and talented main cast. (Kingsley & Isaac) Sadly, those expectations were not met. The pacing at times can be very slow. The scenes between Kingsley and Isaac were filled with suspense and great acting. The supporting cast were however weak. Their inexperience could be seen in their scenes. In particular Alwyn, Scacchi and Richardson. They were a big drag to the movie.
