The result is yet another tired, ultimately incoherent horror movie that undoes the promise of its pretty good premise and potentially interesting story structure with dull scares, sloppy ending and a pair of unconvincing, leaden lead performances.

This decent if derivative scare machine should benefit from a lack of genre competition.

I Loved This Movie! A Great Movie For A Stormy Night :) Great Cast... I Know Everyone Say's This Is Not As Good As The 1st One Made, But I So Disagree! This Is So Much Better!
Overall This Is In The Top 50 Best Horror Movies! I Am Shocked At The User Score Now Is 3.2! I Hope My Review Brings It Up! :)

While director Eric Valette provides the occasional chill, the disturbing spooks aren't enough to make this boat float. Burns sleepwalks through One Missed Call totally devoid of charisma, and Sossamon muddles along, going through the motions.

The direction is uninspired, acting is lifeless, and the script borders on the inept.

With his preferences for static, colorless visuals and exposition-laden dialogue over conversation, director Valette has now set the bar for the worst film of 2008.

One Missed Call was originally a so-so Takashi Miike freak-out. Now it's a worse-worse American eyesore.

The original movie One Missed Call is based on was pretty tame, at least by Miike standards. And since it appears studios have no intention of halting this flood of abysmal rehashes, allow me to suggest that they at least have the stones not to pussyfoot around and give us a remake worthy of Hollywood, of America, and of an audience that lacks the willpower to stop buying tickets to half-assed crap.

Good movie. I hear a lot of bad things about this movie, but I don't understand why. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Any one would be scared if this happened to them.

While the movie fails on a lot of levels (Not scary, bad acting, bad special effects...) it succeeds at being at the very least entertaining and the last half hour was quite fun to watch. It's not a good remake, nor is it a good movie, but it's watchable in a so bad it's good kind of way.

Not as bad as they say. When you see the Japanese version, this will seem a comedy. Honestly I liked it, but not more than the Japanese version. Recommended for viewing with your friends.

Its not awful, its just not good in anyway whatsoever. There is a scary 10 minutes or so, but the rest of the is just so bland (the first 50 minutes might as well not be watched). It feels rushed, no character, no tension. I think they put a load of horror clichés, and a load of pointless "jump scares", with an already established, okay plot. It all leaves tedious film to watch. I can accept a horror film being an objectively bad film, but at least build some tension; make it scary (thankfully fear is subjective).
