Wilson has a scene near the end with Marley that's the most wrenchingly tender acting of his career.

Marley & Me gets so many of the details right, particularly in its final act, when it turns into a five-hanky weeper.

When I need a good cry, a dog movie usually does it for me and "Marley & Me" is no exception. I had thought about taking my 8 and 5 year old nieces to see it but after seeing it, I'm glad I didn't. One of the final scenes was absolutely heartbreaking--too intense for some little kids. I have been in that place--an exam room with a very sick pet and having to choose; do I put my own needs ahead of my beloved pet's quality of life and continue to let the suffer or do I love them enough to let them go? Watched the film with my husband who is a combat hardened retired 1st Sgt. from the Army. We both did what Oprah calls, "the ugly cry". Went through an entire box of Kleenex between the two of us.

Sweet and wise and often laugh-out-loud funny (just like Grogan's book), Marley & Me isn't just for dog people; it's just not for Cruella De Vil.

A warm and fuzzy family movie, but you do wish that at least once someone would upstage the dog.

Could not be more ordinary.

Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston relegate Marley to a lifestyle accessory in his own biopic.

This means something I didnt even give my favorite movie a 10, first time. This is a lighthearted comedy/drama. Makes me cry every time at the end and Im 16. To me its more of a drama then comedy but either way very good movie. Great acting (humans and dog), great chemistry (mainly family-dog. then Family-family.) I brought the DVD in 2009 and I lost it in 2010. Im still desperatly looking for this. Probably the best film ever literally. Better then my fav movie not more entertaining but still better. Watch with family, alone, anytime, anywhere Its that good. But if your kids dont like sad endings cut it when the dog starts to act lazy. If they can handle it watch sad still very good though.

Surprisingly Good.
Marley and Me is about a dog, definitely, but it's just as much about a man. If you love dogs watch this.

This isn't a very funny movie, and when it's trying to be serious it fails miserably, I was surprised when this didn't focus that much on the dog, the best part of this movie, and the only reason I would recommend this is for the emotional ending, but that isn't a reason to spend your hard earned money to go out and buy the DVD or really even a reason to rent this, it's an ok movie, but definitely not for everyone.

I love animals. I do, I love them better than I do people...however, how cliche does this has to be? Yes. Marley dies...tragic, and yet I was so bored. Why? For one thing, the acting is mediocre, there's nothing even amazing about the plot line. I wasn't expecting a thriller, but for God's sake, it's a dog that needs to be trained (and simply running amok is pointless. Yes, they fall in love, buy a house, careers, kids...blah, blah, blah. I call **** on the whole thing...this is supposed to be enertaining, correct?
