The “be your true self” storyline has been a staple of animated features for decades, but it’s delivered with a real kick here.

An animated film showing you “how it’s done, done, done” — as HUNTR/X would put it — this is a stunning musical treat, a joy for all ages. Now warm up the vocal cords and bring on the sequel.

I know this review is late since I already did a review on rotten tomatoes. But this movie is genuinely good, the songs are really enjoyable and some of them even emphasize some of the characters emotions or conflicts they have, the humor is good in the movie I found some of the jokes really funny, and the characters are really good in terms of writing, The Huntrix trio I liked since their character arcs are pretty well made. Overall, this movie is just peak.

If you haven’t seen K-Pop Demon Hunters yet, what are you even doing? This movie is absolutely amazing and has easily grown one of the most intense fandoms of 2025 for a reason. It’s the perfect blend of Demon Slayer action and Sailor Moon aesthetics, but with a soundtrack that actually tops real-world charts. It’s not just a movie; it’s a whole culture moment that has officially become the most-watched Netflix original in **** need to talk about the character designs because Sony Animation really went all out. Abby is highkey a top-tier bias—like zamn, look at them abs!. The animators knew exactly what they were doing when they increased his muscle density by 20% compared to the rest of the Saja Boys. He’s officially the "eye candy" of the group and I am not complaining. Then there’s Jinu, who is such a hott, tragic leader. His "enemies-to-lovers" tension with Rumi is everything, and that emotionally charged performance by Ahn Hyo-seop really sold the heartbreak of his back story. And Baby? Absolute hott energy but in that "cool, nonchalant rapper" way. The fact that he was inspired by Jimin from BTS explains why he’s such a fan **** general idea of idols leading double lives as hunters is generally great and executed so well. Yes, the movie is hilariously inaccurate about "demonology" (obviously lol), but the emotional themes of self-acceptance and sisterhood hit surprisingly hard. It’s generally entertaining for most ages, with enough meta-commentary for the older fans and pure spectacle for the younger ones. Between the "Golden" sing-alongs and the "Saja Boys" world domination, this is the defining film of 2025. If we don’t get that 2029 sequel sooner, I’m going to riot. 10/10, no notes, just vibes and abs.

The action sequences are fluid and immersive, the art is frequently striking and the music (catchy, if formulaic earworms) is a properly wielded and dynamic storytelling tool.

It isn’t the kind of movie where you nitpick the details. It’s the kind of movie where you float along from one scene to the next, buoyed by catchy hits like “Golden” and “Soda Pop.” They don’t just serve the story, but drive it.

There are times when its soap opera trappings struggle to exist along its goofier aspects, but with a collection of upbeat tunes and colorful animation, KPop Demon Hunters, makes for a charming little Netflix movie.

A High-Energy Idol Concert Wrapped in Stylish Korean-Inspired Action250626 (3.2)"The scars are part of me, darkness and harmony. I'll find your harmony." The songs in this film are absolutely incredible—they’ll have your shoulders grooving and stay on repeat for a long time. While the story wraps up a bit abruptly, it feels like watching a perfectly conceptualized idol concert, which is a fantastic experience in itself. The film follows "Huntriss," a trio of hunters who use their voices to drive away evil spirits. To gather the spiritual energy needed to build the "Spirit Gate" (Honmun), they perform as a top-tier idol group. The animation and action are top-notch, reminiscent of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," with clever transitions into comic-style **** attention to Korean detail is delightful, from authentic snack plates of kimbap and sundae to the "HAN Clinic" specializing in idols. Even the merchandise, like cup noodles named after the members, feels real. The voice cast is legendary: Lea Salonga and Kim Yunjin lend their voices to the character Celine, while Lee Byung-hun voices the villainous Guima. The "Saja Boys," a rival group led by the 400-year-old Grim Reaper Jin-woo, add a fun competitive edge. From the tiger appearing in Bukchon Hanok Village to the lightsticks with traditional Korean patterns, the "K-culture" aesthetic is perfectly executed. It’s a vibrant fusion of shamanistic rituals and modern fandom, where the crowd’s collective energy helps the heroes achieve the "Golden Spirit Gate." Though I’ll admit my rating has a bit of "national pride" bias, the sheer style and music make it a total joy to watch.

Onestly, what is this movie even about. The soundtrack is good, the animation is average for 2025 ,and the story way too unpredictable.I'm writing this review as a adult , if I was a kid , I would give a rating about 8

Overall, I'd say if you have watched any Korean dramas you've seen this show before, and you've probably seen it done better. I will watch with family but don't care for the genre, so this was a miss for me.
The songs had catchy beats, that's about the only redeeming element to me.
The most disturbing aspect for me were the "dramatic" animations, with characters popping and jumping at odd framerates, like the animators need to buy new video cards. Individual moments looked beautiful, and if this were still frames on WebToons it would great, but as a movie it gave me motion sickness. More than anything else, the animation style made the movie difficult to watch.
I felt the story was thin and the characters undeveloped. There was no backstory on most characters because they are the generic K-drama tropes. The plot and supposed twist can be found in many other k-dramas out there. Anyone playing "K-Drama Trope Bingo" would have a winner in just a few scenes. However, it is what the fans of the genre want, so they seem to have hit that. I felt some of the scenes were very sexist. If there was a role reversal, instead of featuring on the boy's abs and sexy-bits they had instead focused on the girl's body the same way there would have been an outcry. Nobody would be okay if the movie reversed the genders, if it were men drooling over the women's bodies, if there were a gender-reversed moment of a random old man coming over to feel up a young girl, or with a gender-reversed message that the only thing a girl has is her body where in the movie that's the only thing the demon boys had going for them. People are right to call it out when there's the sexy women just there for their body, this movie gender reverses it and it's just as bad.
The demon boy band was an interesting combination, the k-pop music trendy, but I felt the actual story itself had nothing new from the formula.
