It may be mindless and sexless and humorless, but Jumper jumps.

I’ve never really explained it to anyone, but if I were to ever write a story, I always wanted to write a twist where a future version of myself gives my past self a chance. 260311 (5.0)This story felt like a fragment of that very idea, and seeing it play out in the theater back in 2008 left me truly stunned. It’s one thing to imagine a concept, but it's another to see it executed with such narrative precision that it resonates with your own creative daydreams. A perfect 5.0 for a film that felt like it reached into my mind and brought a personal "what if" to life on the big screen. It was an incredibly surprising and validating experience, making it a definitive highlight of my 2008 cinema visits—a rare moment where my own imagination felt mirrored by a masterpiece.

Great movie... and I truly mean it’s a great movie! One of the better movies from the early 2000’s.

It doesn't help that the performances are bland (particularly those of Christensen and Bilson) and that what comes out of their mouths is uninspired. Short on imagination and anchored by a wan hero, Jumper is a flight of fancy that never fully takes off.

Liman, for all his craft, doesn't have enough FUN with the premise.

Deep into Hollywood's Dumb Season comes one of its dumbest offerings.

Like so many other CGI behemoths, this dull action fantasy ultimately squashes rather than inspires one's sense of wonder.

Jumper, based on the novel by Steven Gould, re-defines -- downward -- the notion of dreadful. It does so by dispensing with everything a movie needs for a shot at being merely awful. Dramatic development? None. Entertaining dialogue? Ditto. Internal logic? Puhleez. Intriguing characters? No characters, thus no intrigue. Interesting performances? Essentially none, though with an asterisk.

Jumper is the first film from a trilogy of books by Steven Gould, and while I loved this film, most critics panned it. The story centers around a young Davey (Hayden Christensen), who during a life-threatening event, come to realize he has the power to teleport wherever he wants. Unbeknownst to Davey, he is a member **** of genetically superior humans known as Jumpers, who are currently at war with a religious organization, that believes their power is evil. What starts out as a simple kid having fun and trying to impress, becomes a fight for survival in this amazing action thriller. You can always tell when a story is adapted from a book, rather than an original screenplay, because the story tends to be more thought out. Not to say screenplays are bad, but when a story isn't made simply to be a movie, it tends to be much more focused on the story, where as screenplays have to worry about the story as well as the aesthetics. Nevertheless, Jumper isn't just another shoot 'em story, it's the perfect mix of action and drama with some outstanding performances. I love Hayden Christensen, who I think is made for roles like this, he has this cool demeanor to him, that's more clever than arrogant. Jamie Bell is also terrific as Griffin, a fellow jumper Davey meets along the way, and he provides some much needed comic relief. ...and then there's Samuel L. Jackson. What is there to say about Jackson that hasn't already been said? The man is a legend. This film is interesting, unique, fast-paced, and even funny. I loved every minute of Jumper and if Sci-Fi is your thing, you will too!

The movie isn't terrible, but leaving the story open for a sequel and not getting a sequel to me makes a movie less interesting. The only thing less appealing than leaving an opening for a sequel and not getting one is using completely different actors/actresses to complete a sequel with the same characters. I would say it's worth watching if you have time, but I wouldn't go out of your way to watch it as it doesn't have that great of a story line.

Jumper is a average night out movie. Teleporting skills, chicks and a sissy character who plays the lead. There cannot be worse movies out their like Jumper which is a fast entertainer that is at least- understandable and enjoyable. I got my copy on Bluray, it looked cool from the cover so, I bought it for 4.99 and watched it. I was surprised why critics didn't pan The Sixth Sense because its a hell of a confusing film. Jumper, on the other hand was a exciting thriller and I did like it.

Jumper jumps to victory at the beginning to end up being blindfolded in the middle of nowhere. In short conclusion, Jumper jumps to get early start when you should know early starts make movies look bad.

Other than a few cool action scenes, the characters are painfully dull, the special effects are unattractive, and the entire plot is nearly muddled to the point of being nonexistent.
