Ice Age: Continental Drift

Handsomely animated and features a story that, while hopelessly familiar, at least seems to be part of a whole. Also, there are pirates. So there's that.

It's familiar, drawn-out shtick, and the humor lacks the subtlety of the first and best Ice Age, but there are some visually inventive high points.

Old friends and new voice talent will delight kids with a never-ending love for the most undemanding animation out there. A megabucks franchise drifts on.

Much of the action in Ice Age: Continental Drift takes place on an iceberg fashioned into a seagoing vessel. No one seems to be piloting the boat, which is an apt metaphor for the film.

Now, the action takes to the sea, where pirates, original songs and a minx-like Jennifer Lopez character make for harmless diversion.

A sugary jumble of goofy voices, hyperkinetic action scenes and rote plot elements that rolls forward just enough to get us to the de rigueur pop song that plays over the closing credits.

Caters almost exclusively to the remedial, Duplo Blocks demographic, leaving parents and guardians bored to distraction.

This movie is pretty decent but very forgettable, and it's significantly different from the first three movies. I don't like the direction they took, but it's acceptable, even though it lacks what made the previous movies that good, this one has its own charm.

i love the ice age franchise! but this movie! was not good! it runied the whole ice age franchise! because after ice age 3! ice age just went downhill! that´s just stupid!

Certamente o pior filme da franquia. Ao assistir o filme, tive uma sensação de que o mesmo não tinha alma, muito menos proposito. Aqui os temas trabalhados são mal representados e até mesmo chatos. Era do Gelo nunca foi uma animação pé no chão, com um foco - nem que seja no subtexto - na discussão de algo. Mas puts, o Mamute nunca foi tão chato, e sua relação com a filha é tão chata que tenho vontade de desligar a TV. Dito isso, o filme não surpreende quanto aos personagens. Não são carismáticos, engraçados e não provocam qualquer tipo de emoção. Infelizmente, os personagens principais não conseguem carregar a trama.
