Featuring terrific female characters, endlessly funny sidekicks and a genuinely jaw-dropping score, this loose adaptation of The Snow Queen is the best film from Walt Disney Animation in close to a generation.

Disney’s Frozen works beautifully as a timeless fairy tale with a modern twist.

Embracing the Hidden Inner Voice and Finding True Growth Through Love.140126 (Around the 50th viewing, 5.0)Everyone carries at least one hidden voice in their heart that they deeply fear. The lyrics to "Let It Go" are so profoundly relatable that whenever that sequence arrives, holding back tears becomes entirely impossible; no matter how many times I rewatch it, the emotional impact hits just as hard every single time. As our fears grow, the inner voice that must remain hidden only grows louder, and by covering our ears to that internal truth and shutting the door, we endure in silence only to become lonely adults. When the closet door swings open and our deepest fears confront the world, very few people possess the composure to remain steadfast. Just like Elsa, most of us would choose to flee toward some distant North Mountain, leaving the place we once belonged completely frozen over. Yet resolving this emotional paralysis is ultimately a task only we can accomplish for ourselves. No matter who knocks on the door, or even if external forces attempt to capture and confine us, true resolution stems solely from love and personal growth. Although often framed through children's animation marketing in South Korea, countless adults have quietly wiped away tears alongside the story, humbled and moved by the stirring of an inner voice finally finding the courage to reclaim its place. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the 2013 Disney animated feature "Frozen" captures Queen Elsa and Princess Anna navigating fear and estrangement, delivering an enduring cinematic meditation on emotional liberation and self-acceptance.

Overall, Frozen is another fine addition to the Disney animated feature pantheon, offering a witty and heartfelt princess fairly tale with creative musical elements and some visual panache.

Frozen could also leave its mark as the next step in the Disney Princess feminist revisionism championed by last year’s “Brave.” Where that film staunchly pushed a men-don’t-define-me theme throughout, here it’s the requisite fairy tale ending that gets tweaked.

The film transcends its various borrowings and occasional stumblings with a modern, exuberant spirit that draws heat from Broadway-style musical numbers and, before and after everything else, from marvelous 3-D animation

The story — aside from a climax that plays like a too-knowing rebuke to Disney formula — goes tediously through the motions. It isn’t only Papa Walt’s head that’s been put on ice.

Frozen brings us a frozen adventure although it is not too cold and fun but yes, it achieves its mission
