To make up for the lack of blood, the film provided more gratuitous nudity than had been seen in the previous installments of the series.

The tone is crude, raunchy, and leering, with kill scenes combined with more nudity than usual; we’re even invited to check out a hot chick’s body after her face has been sliced in half by garden shears.

If The Final Chapter has too many and actually almost every characters on that film so unlikeable, A New Beginning has so many very likeable characters and i love it, again since the first one i still don't have a likeable usual couples characters in Friday The 13th series, including this one, and that's the only two that i still don't like but the rest is likeable and it's more great because A New Beginning set up a completely new type of story, i don't know if they gonna repeat this one in later movie, i hope not, and i like this new story, i enjoy it, A New Beginning kills is not as brutal as all the previous one but again because of a likeable characters and good story it make it better than ever, now there is still some cheesy and silly moment but in here it's not those type of cheesy and sillyness that are bad, i found it funny and entertaining, i enjoy almost everything in A New Beginning, a drastic step up from all previous movie especially The Final Chapter which i hate to death, A New Beginning fills with a lot of likeable characters that make it more fun to watch and also good enjoyable story and fun final battle between likeable characters and Jason, silly and cheesy in a very entertaining way and overall Friday The 13th: A New Beginning is the best in the franchise so far.

Friday the 13th A New Beginning I am genuine how surprised this movie was too be the stuff i heard is one of people's least fav to me I think the good is Jason which is cool like the mask in like a greyish tags and blueish tags which is odd but different you will know why when you see the movie why it is like that I enjoy Tommy Jarvis in this but he does not do anything which annoys me because I get the whole be is scared of Jason or something like that and having issues mentaly but it goes no where in this movie ok the mixed are the kills there is some cool ones but most kills in this film are cut aways so annoying like you get excited for a kill than you barley see it which is so annoying I think the negatives is they do way too much nudity wayyy to much and they don't try to build any characters either kills like every character possible in the movie which is so odd to do in a 5th movie or any Friday the 13th movies in general so all round i enjoyable this flick it is different kinda still could of been way better like I mentioned they did not do a lot of good in this mainly because to make another movie which does **** because had some good ideas fall so flat so I give Friday the 13th A New Beginning a B-

If you're in the right mood and watching with others who can appreciate the art of a bad movie, A New Beginning is somewhat of a laugh riot.

There is little suspense in the film; the identity of the killer is heavily foreshadowed early on with a baroque music cue and a couple of menacing glances. And the false endings, which have become standard in this genre ever since "Carrie," reach laughable proportions here, because, yes, there will be a sixth film in the series next year. Have a nice day. [25 March 1985, p.C5]

Even as you feel grateful to be able to laugh off this film, you realize that its humor is really only inuring you to a nonstop series of stabbings, slashings, impalings, stranglings and yet other means of killing. Be warned: For all its laughs, Friday the 13th -- A New Beginning (rightly rated R) is just one more nauseating sick joke. [25 March 1985, p.C6]

This one, set in a bucolic halfway house for disturbed children, is not entirely without Grand Guignol humor, but almost. It appears to have been paced by a metronome - a joke followed by a murder followed by a joke followed by a murder, until all but one of the featured played have been exterminated...It's worth recognizing only as an artifact of our culture.

And the rest of the movie? Same screaming, same endless chases, same breasts, same blood, same axe, same lack of explanation, same ending primed for another sequel. Is there a pattern emerging here? In short: same as it ever was, same as it ever was.

The kills are not that great and yes, this is the film with the copycat killer, but a few of the kills are great, most of the new character are fun, and Tommy is given another great actor.
I don't mind the twist, as I see it as Jason's impact is so large and inspirational someone copied him.

More mystery elements than the other movies in the series. As we try to guess the killer's ID, A few brutal kills, Movie has the most brightly lit nudity in the series, I liked the attractive girls, and the smart resourceful lead blonde girl and black kid, Movie also has the most uses of the word fawk in the series, Another big demerit., for the most annoying lead character in the series, Tommy..

This is how horror movies are made in the past. The theme of the movie is the kind of movie that captures the attention of a person with a disturbing plot that shows mysterious events. After watching and understanding the story of the movie, I thought it would be an interesting movie.

I have a lot to say about this film mostly because it is the most disappointing in the series so far, and by a long way. It has an incredible intro, great music, no technical issues, has the honour of possibly my favourite nudity in any film except maybe My Bloody Valentine (2009). The last twenty minutes saves this from being a total catastrophe as there is some good thrilling action. This is a very eighties film but it is set at least a decade after the previous film. It’s kinda goofy and loses its way very quickly after the excellent opening. The human interactions are painful. It’s a bad interpretation of autism. It’s not violent, the kills are tame and don’t feel part of the film as the killer and the killing is rarely seen on-camera. The filmmakers really didn’t understand what makes these films great. The murderer mystery aspect is annoying once you know the twist which you can work out if you’re paying attention. It’s fairly slow and tedious with atrocious characterisation across the board. The ending makes no thematic sense. This fails massively on a conceptual, directorial and writing level and is almost certainly my least favourite of the franchise.
