One of the most skillful, mesmerizing, tense and satisfying time-warp thrillers ever made.

It's like a chick flick for men--and the women who love them, sniff-sniff.

Wanted to see this movie since it came out when I was 10, but for soooome reason (it's rated R), that was a no-go. Well, I finally caught it in 2020 and HOLY CROW it is *hands down* one of the best movies I've ever seen! It's perfect! Suspenseful, emotional, way cool premise and - what I wasn't prepared for and absolutely why it's rated R - so intense! This movie was marketed as a sci-fi, but it is equally a *thriller.* I for sure would have been horrified (and fascinated) with its darker side as a kid. I'll never understand why this movie isn't better known. For my part, I'm telling everybody. 10/10!

Corny and far-fetched it may be, but Frequency works - except for some stretches when it doesn't.

Enough originality and emotional weight to keep you engrossed even when it lapses into some pretty standard moves at the end.

The time shifting raises questions the movie never answers, but it's hard not to enjoy the ride.

Disappointingly dumb.

As an audience member, you end up feeling like a sucker for even having tolerated that sickly sweet notion about a father, a son, and their silly radio.

Frequency is a good family movie. The plot of the film does not poorly use the time loop method. Yes, the film does not seem realistic from a scientific point of view, but there are the foundations of a detective thriller. Nice movie to watch with your family.

This film is a family drama in which a son communicates with his father, dead for years, through a radio that, through some mysterious means and that the film does not clarify much, opens a temporary portal or something. All those who say this seems implausible have reason to say it, and I understand that because I also thought so. The problem with the script is that it has its origin in such a weak premise because otherwise the story is profound, touching and so pleasing that the logical weakness of the story ends up being forgiven. The characters are also easily appealing and pleasing, being well developed from the psychological point of view. Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel are the main actors of the cast and have lived up to expectations, achieving a very pleasant bond between them. The rest of the cast virtually does what it has to do and nothing else.

Has a good heart and decent acting but the film is virtually a series of plot-holes.

ue to the inexplicable appearance of the aurora borealis over Queens, a New York cop is able to communicate via ham radio with his long-dead father, thirty years in the past. Completely ignoring the warnings of Doc Brown and Marty McFly, he immediately spoils the upcoming World Series and dozens of important life moments for his father, before the two decide to pair up in the hunt for an unresolved string of historical murders. Frequency can't decide if it wants to embrace the sappy paternal bonding thing or chase a more suspenseful path, and its main plot mechanism is clunky, under-explained and inconsistent. It's also a routinely telegraphed story, from beginning to end, with a narrow scope that limits its potential escape routes and an heavy overdose of father-son baseball allegories. Hackneyed, hammy and haphazard, this one plays like a bloated sci-fi short story in desperate need of revision.
