Creature is refreshingly and intentionally silly, in an era when horror has devolved mostly into torture porn and high-tech, computer-generated assaults on our senses.

There is a perverse enjoyment to be had from something this cheesy, although not enough of one that I can recommend sitting through it. Still, as bad as Creature is, it can be fun, although the level of enjoyment is probably in direct proportion to the viewer's level of intoxication.

The Fx in this film are amazing! Cool Creature! Blood, boobs and violence! What else can you ask for! I thought it was very well done! If you're looking for something different this is it! This is not a Creature from the black lagoon remake! The music was good and the acting was great! Did Imention it also has Sid Haig from Rob Zombie's films House of 1000 corpses and devil's rejects! With dependably creepy character actor Sid Haig to goose things along as leader of the locals, Creature is delightfully dopey.

The six actors in the central, edible roles seem as if they could have pulled off a "Scream"-like satire, but since they weren't asked to, there's nothing much for them to do but follow the clearly visible paths to their doom.

Deep in the swampy hearts and minds of some filmmakers, embarrassing stereotypes still fester, gathering moss and slime.

Falling to pieces almost immediately, and then somehow discovering new ways to devolve into outright ludicrousness, it's a horror effort of such silliness that it's likely to be greeted with apathy at the box office before making a swift, deserved trip to the local video store's bargain bin.

Absurdly plotted, ineptly scripted and haplessly acted, Creature is a new variation on the "Creature from the Black Lagoon" theme.

If you are looking for a remake then this isn't the movie for you! For some reason critics feel they are professionals of horror films. Just because you get paid to voice your opinion does not mean you are well educated on the genre. When watching the film it is obvious director Fred Andrews was going for some simular things that reflect past horror films to allow audiences to relate to the film. This film takes a group of actors that are rising stars and did not sell their soul and buy top billing actors to fill theaters. This sets the bar for indie films and gives exposure to the next generation of actors...Bravo Mr. Andrews! I strongly advise everyone to stay away from any reviews by critics and go see the movie yourself, be your own critic. Be sure to go into with the mindset of seeing an indie film that is fun and original that took thought . Hollywood needs more original horror films! Keep up the good work Fred Andrews!!!!

This should be a scary movie but failed to scare, should be a gruesome movie but has off screen violence, should be fun but failed to entertain, should be so bad that it is fun but doesn't quite understand the issue, should have been straight to video but got a WIDE RELEASE? Creature should be shown on the most anonymous channels at 4 am on a Friday morning. What is this thing?
