Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008

Still as addictive as ever. It may no seem so different at first but there are good changes. [Dec 2007, p.70]

Each year it seems that the minute gameplay tweaks can have very little impact on the way the game plays, but every time we find ourselves finding the improvements have been so well implemented that it's hard to imagine going back to the way the beautiful game used to be played.

Football Manager 2008 is without a shadow of a doubt the best football management game available. It’s the same game it has always been, with more features.

More an evolution than a revolution, but it certainly has enough new features to drag you back in. [Christmas 2007, p.62]

Without doubt, it is the most realistic, rewarding and compelling football title around, so we can only hope that this prosaic update is a blip, rather than a sign of serious stagnation.

It's another year and another Football Manager. When good things are this consistent we often forget how lucky we are to have them. That said, this year's game is particularly thin on new features, but it's still the same great package that's been re-jigged slightly to keep us interested.

Football Manager joins the rest of the sports titles this year in flogging a dead and diseased corpse to milk yet more cash from its demanding fanbase.
