The beautifully presented dystopian society has a huge hidden story potential, which is mostly handed down to the players. Playable passages will get boring after a while, but if you like a good alternative history, you won’t mind the average gameplay. [Issue#289]

Retrofuturistic, totalitarian world created by Compulsion Games is fascinating, as we see bits and pieces of Kafka (a clerk rebelling against the system), Clockwork Orange (extreme violence), Douglas Adams (humor) or Half-Life (architecture) floating around. What failed is the execution, which turned We Happy Few into an unintentional parody of stealth games. The enemy AI is so lame that I repeatedly had an impression of starring in a lost episode of The Benny Hill Show, especially since the combat system is crude and production values leave a lot to be desired. The concept of We Happy Few has so much potential, but it feels like there were two teams with different level of talent working on this project. One team used this elaborate alternative world, stark visual style and and intriguing story, tried to lift it up. The other team was responsible for imbalanced, clumsy gameplay, pulled the game down. The result is 30 hours of very mixed feelings.

I can not explain how tedious the Joy mechanic is in this game. The first thing I noticed was how fast my joy meter was dwindling, the second was how fast your overdose meter fills up, making the entire game be almost unplayable because of how many times I had to go and throw up. Almost threw up in real life.

Não sei como foi o desempenho no lançamento, mas atualmente é um ótimo jogo. Talvez possa ser um pouco cansativo para alguns, já que o jogo funciona dentro de um mundo aberto e demanda constantes caminhadas, além de existir elementos de sobrevivência, mas nada que estrague a experiência. Achei o jogo bem detalhista, informativo e repleto de mecânicas. Enfim, boa gameplay, bom enredo e boa construção de mundo. Vale a pena testar.

The story and atmosphere are interesting, the gameplay is just barely fine, the procedurally generated world is catastrophic and makes it so the world outside of a few handcrafted mission areas is extremely boring and annoying.

Despite the performance issues, We Happy Few is a must-own title for any gamer who loves survival open world titles and quality world building.

Procedurally generated world is undeniably big, but it’s also bland to the point it hurts the story. It’s hard to stay invested when every plot advancement requires you to walk along the indistinctive streets for dozen minutes. [Issue#232, p.74]

Talvez possa ser um pouco cansativo para alguns, já que o jogo funciona dentro de um mundo aberto e demanda constantes caminhadas, além de existir elementos de sobrevivência, mas nada que estrague a experiência. I don’t play much games recently but This is masterpiece and mindblowing game,main story is perfect but i like the most side quest, they are interesting and you dont fell like you grinding the game while maxing character. I really enjoy searching Everything to find better thing. 100% recomend for everyone Who want to sink in the Joy!

We Happy Few is going to go down as a cult hit. If you can muster the strength to get past its janky gameplay, there's a whole lot to love here in the world and characters. But the fact remains that this adventure is one that could have used a bit more refinement.

MELHOR JOGO QUE EU JOGUEI NA MINHA VIDA, eu me apaixonei por tudo que envolve o universo desse jogo, especialmente pelos personagens e pala história maravilhosa desse universo.
A historia é muito boa e criativa, com personagens carismáticos. literalmente é o que carrega esse jogo nas costas.
Sem duvida um dos maiores problemas do jogo, o mapa é EXTREMAMENTE repetitivo, pelo fato de grande parte dele ter sido feito através de uma geração procedural, tirando isso eu AMEI o jogo :3

I did enjoy this game and find it very unique with a fantastic story. I also found it so hard to play sometimes, struggling to find the resources I needed as everything is so rare that I had no urge to play more than the main story. Also one big bug hindered me from moving along in the story and it cost me quite some nerves and time to find a way around it.

Ого Сначала играешь за беспомощного ботана который вырезает пол города и оказывается настоящим мудаком Потом играешь за шлюху которая переебалась со всеми деревьями и оказывается что она сильная и не зависимая и хочет лучшей жизни хотя никапли на неё не заслуживает И в конце играешь за вояку с шизой который спасает всё это месево и прощается с шизой Мдауууушь 7 из 10

i really tried to make this garbage work, but godddd i can’t do this anymore. such a huge disappointment. the story was actually interesting with its 1960s england setting, but a good story is obviously not enough. ima just wrap it up about why i dropped this utter failure after playing for 13 hours. it’s still a buggy mess after 6 years of release (think ac unity levels). bad pacing. performance issues. 1968 ahh combat system. walking simulator (google says that also). copy-paste npcs and buildings everywhere. the game literally restarts you as a new character in each act, which is painful because you lose all your grind and have to do everything again. each act has a different character. in act 2, you play as a mom, and you have to take care of your baby every 10 minutes, which is the most forced and stupid mechanic i’ve seen in a long time. why would i want to stop what i’m doing and play mommy simulator in an action-adventure game? think twice before deciding if you really want to play this.
