While the gameplay is somewhat shallow, and the racing elements sometimes frustrating, there is plenty to say about getting a Transformers game with high production value and an all-star voice team. Activision and Traveller’s Tales have brought the new movie to life with a decent beat-em-up title that doesn’t succumb to the movie tie-in curse.

The 2004 videogame adaptation of the Transformers: Armada line from Atari (on PS2) was a Transformers game done right. It had better visuals, cooler incentives for moving between robot and vehicular forms, and boasted some of the best boss battles that year. But Activision's 2007 iteration doesn't live up to that standard. Its lack of depth and poor mission design ensures that.

Esse game é um clássico, por mais que ainda não tenha idade para ser um, ele fez parte da minha infância e eu sou muito suspeito de falar sobre ele, mas eu gosto muito do jogo, ele é baseado no primeiro filme dos Transformers e para mim ele é o melhor jogo da franquia, entre os baseados nos filmes e desenhos, o melhor jogo dos Transformers na minha opinião, a gameplay é fluida, tem um mundo aberto bem legal, muita ação e destruição, o jogo conta com diversos personagens conhecidos e ainda tem como escolher se quer zerar como herói ou como vilão, Autobots ou Decepticons, enfim, eu recomendo muito para quem não jogou ainda.

Almost 20 years ago the Transformers hit the big screen and I remember it vividly. I don’t know why this game seem to have slipped past me for the last 18 years but here I am, in 2025 - with a story mode completion. Overall I’d say the game has its enjoyable moments and some really dull moments - the combat can be very, very repetitive. Some of the combat requires you to pick up items in order to fight back - this can be a huge drag. The grapple system is probably one of the worst if not the worst thing in the game. Very, very clunky. There is a lot of clunkiness to the movements/fighting as well. However, some of the transformations into land and air vehicles are fantastic! The voice acting is awesome. Flying vehicles definitely steal the show - but they feel very boxed into a small sandbox environment and leave more to be desired. There are quite a few bugs and glitches that can be frustrating to get around. The overall finished product feels slapped together and rushed. A good little game to play if you’re curious and like beat-em-up style gameplay. Hopefully the devs improved upon this game with the sequel Revenge of the Fallen. I will be checking that out next to compare!

Transformers doesn't make any radical changes to the classic action game genre, but it does have likeable characters and top-notch production values, coupled with enjoyable gameplay.

It’s about on par with all other movie licensed games: relatively short, decent graphics, decent gameplay, and not much value to it.

This really pains me to no end. I am a HUGE Transformers fan, and to have this game end up being this bad really hurts my soul. I mean the very basics for a transformers game is driving, fighting, and huge robots. They got one out of the 3 correct.

Everything from the dull campaigns, to the boring “open ended” environments, which really weren’t, No-name Bots I took no pleasure in killing, and timed missions that made me want to scream in frustration.

Its actually fun idlf u think about it. Its more like a guilty pleasure though. Its fun to just finish the story, and after that you can destroy everything. But it loses replayibility after a week.

Transformers: The Game is just your typical bad movie license game. Activision failed to make this game any fun or make the story interesting. It is a waste of time.

i found this game very disappointing, it screwed up the story big time, the controls were bad, and the voice acting was just plain awful, the only positive i have for this game was its graphics,besides that, the game was awful
