It resolves overarching plot threads with breathtaking maturity and grace. A flawless 10/10 experience that every role-playing fan must play.

One of the best JRPGs of the early 2000s is back in full force. The incredible amount of care and attention they’ve put into both remakes has resulted in two absolutely gems. I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing what they do with the 3rd. The badside is that they keep hiring Singa, somehow managing to make every song he touches worse. I can’t wait for the day they finally fire him.

The character growth, banter and npc dialogoue changing with the event make the world alive and fun. The continuation of the story form the 1st game is really good and make the conclusion so worthwhile. Definitely my GOTY.

If you haven't played the 1st Chapter, please look into/play that first as this is a direct sequel taking place immediately after. So, for those who played the 1st Chapter and was awed by it, I'd say just stop reading and jump right in and have a blast. For those who played 1st Chapter and thought it was good but kind of slow and therefore hesitant to get into 2nd? That's valid too but I'll just say that, 1st Chapter is like the first 40% of an epic fantasy novel where it didn't even get to the climax yet. 2nd Chapter is the payoff. Does it mean it's no talking, all high-stake, all action, all the time? Not really, but kind of! In terms of gameplay, it should be a straight upgrade because one of the biggest complaints of 1st Chapter is the limited party members, where half the game you had control of only the two protagonists. In 2nd Chapter, other than the prologue, you are pretty much at full party size the entire game. There's a 10+ hour demo that carries over save data to the full game, so unless you straight up hated the 1st Chapter, it's worth checking out.

I’ve played the previous title, and this one is an improvement in every aspect—from the presentation to the story. The battles are incredibly fun; not only are they exhilarating, but there’s also the satisfaction of devising strategies before taking on a challenge. If you enjoy RPGs, I highly recommend giving this game a try.

After a 1st chapter that took its time setting up the world, 2nd Chapter finally lets loose. If you grew up with the golden age of 90s/2000s JRPGs, you’re going to love it. The story gets darker, the political stakes explode, and the antagonists (Ouroboros) are incredibly charismatic. You really get attached to Estelle, Joshua, and the entire party. On the gameplay side, the combat system and Orbments gain a lot of depth. Personally, I’m doing a 100% run to clear all the Bracer Guild quests, and for once, it never feels like a chore: every single side quest develops the lore and NPCs in a super organic way. Technically, while modest, the game is super clean and colorful in 4K 60fps on PS5. And a special shoutout to the soundtrack: Falcom’s music is so epic it makes you want to buy the vinyl set immediately. In short, a masterclass that fully deserves a place as a beautiful physical edition on your shelf! An absolute must-play for fans of the genre. Huge thanks to Falcom for this gem, and please keep bringing the series to us in French for future releases!

This game is beyond amazing and perfect remake that capture the essence of the original game. Really glad it's getting the recognition it deserve

This second chapter takes everything that worked in the first and improves upon it in every way. After the events of the previous chapter, we get a deeper and stronger story, with more emotional weight and even greater ambition. A classic JRPG that was already amazing at the time is now an absolute must-play—and one of my GOTY contenders this year.

It was one of the best 'power of friendship'' stories I've been fortunate enough to play. It's troupe heavy, it's cheesy, sometimes predictable, but it leans into it masterfully. If you don't like the game, it's hard to beat the soundtrack, Fateful Confrontation is one of the best boss themes in recent years. If you pick up the game, take your time, pay attention to everything you read, and enjoy getting to know Estelle. It's worth your time.

Amazing remake. If this game doesnt show up in any categories at TGA, Geoff should consider retire for good bro. Falcom managed to capture a perfect remake formula that satisfies both old and new fans of the series, thats quite a big feat.

Absolute masterpiece ****. This game took my favourite trails game and elevated it an even higher level. The new graphics engine introduced in Sky 1st Chapter brought this game to the next level compared to the original and I love how it expanded on it with extra lore and quests. The cutscenes are the best Falcom have made so far. The story , the combat , the lore , the world building , the character writing , the art style , the music, nearly everything is perfect about this game. Estelle is my favourite MC in Trails even after playing all the trails game and this game reminded me of why I love her so much and Joshua is an amazing character as well as foil for her. This game is without a doubt the best Trails game I have played after playing all 14 of them in the series. Excited for the inevitable Sky the 3rd remake , it can't come sooner.

Story, combat, cast, music, and visuals are all top notch. A continuation of the 1st game which was a nice adventure JRPG about two up and coming Bracers. Now the stakes are much higher and its more of a love story with some tragedy, betrayal, and ultimately concludes on a high note.

Great game so far. Only played around 15 hours in but I previously didn't know anything about Trails in the Sky games. It reminds me some of the Tales series games, so enjoying it so far. Characters, story and soundtrack have been fantastic so far. Also I am enjoying and actually understanding the battle system compared to Tales of Berseria, which I enjoyed the story but didn't really fully understand the battle system. I feel like the battle mechanics in Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter are much easier to follow and understand so I actually know what I am doing. :D Will come back later after finishing but really enjoying what I've played so far. Looking forward to playing the first game later as well.

Really good sequel. I liked the original game, but this one I adore to bits. Pacing grows faster with each chapter. Lovely conclusion, top tier combat system. Perfect start to this epic saga. Agate/Tita dynamic Ofc Estelle Joshua story and the whole world building Questions about human needs. Story has or all from laugh to crying Must play for me

A masterpiece that completely surpasses the first game in every aspect. The combat system is far more engaging, the visuals are gorgeous, and the character development goes so much deeper. Even with 30 years of gaming experience behind me, I was still thoroughly captivated by this beautiful story. It has easily become my favorite game of all time.

Absolutely amazing game. The graphics and gameplay have improved from the first game overall. The story is so well explained and full of epic moments. The FPS is stable, and I love the high-speed mode for battles, so it doesn't take super long to go through all the areas. A game that is 100% recommended

perfect follow up to an already great game, my favourite jrpg of all time. The characters are memorable, the plot is extremely well written and it's gonna interconnect pretty well with the rest of trails games (for the fans). The memorable scenes are 1:1 and are perfectly recreated to the dot. The budget is way bigger and you can see the difference with the first game in terms of animations.

Excellent direction, a great battle system, and a story that continues and builds on its predecessor make it a truly good title. There are minor texture drops, but they don't bother me and help immerse me in the game world. That's why we can't help but look forward to this little company's next remake
