Stellar Blade10
Jun 11, 2026
Completely sublime experience ****, I missed playing this back in 2024 due to being focused on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but after two years later I am finally realizing what I have been missing with the game. The combat feels great and crunchy, it is fast paced and took a little getting used to. I played the game first on Story mode because I felt personally it was very challenging. But after beating the game last night and starting a new game plus, I feel much more confident in my second playthrough now.Stellar Blade has a phenomenal soundtrack, and I mean it is really, really good. Go listen to tracks such as "White Night", "Beyond Fate" and "Everglow" and you will see what I mean. Tell me this game does not have soul after hearing just those tracks alone. But it isn't just those tracks, there is really good background ambience music to alot of the areas you visit such as the Great desert and even the beginning street area level.I think one of my favorite experiences in the game was in late game there is a certain environment you have to take like an elevator and there is a sequence that plays with the "Everglow" song in the background, it was really special for me and I have to give the developers credit for the sequence that plays here and the effects they showed, Earth looks great in the sequence as well.I think Eve is a likable character and despite the criticisms you usually may hear about this game, please don't listen to them and experience the game for yourself. Some also said the story was flat but I actually really enjoyed it. There is alot of intrigue and mystery - not everything has to be over explained like so many bad western media that over do this. I think especially towards the end one of the major reveals I sort of knew was coming (who Eve was in the context of the story and this futuristic plot) but it made me have even more appreciation for the overall story and Eve as a character. The thing is the game is absolutely more than just Eve and her figure, you can appreciate it sure - but the game is much more than that. I do not feel at all this game would have been as successful as it has been (6 million+ sales of the game on PS5 and PC) if it was just about playing dress up with a pretty girl. There story, the combat, Environment and music all combine to create a truly once of a lifetime experience. The closest game I can think of that reminds me of Stellar Blade has been Nier Automata, but I think Stellar Blade is even better in many ways in my ****'t listen to the noise, play and experience the game for yourself and decide - I am glad for one I gave this game a try after initially not really getting into it in 2024 playing the demo. Also try playing story mode first like I did, you will be glad you did. Start a new game + after and will feel much better at how to complete the rest of the game again being much more powerful the 2nd round through the **** try listening to the Soundtrack for this game as well! it is really really good.

FINAL FANTASY TACTICS - The Ivalice Chronicles9
Oct 1, 2025
Great classic of a legendary JRPG/Strategy game from the late 90's. I previously played this game all the way back when it was released on the PS1, and then the PSP version way back in the early 2000's. It's a Legendary strategy game that still holds up today quite well. I would recommend playing on the classic mode. Everyone seems to be gushing over the new enhanced mode, but for me personally I didn't care for the new voice acting in some ways it was a bit jarring and distracting. For example, units will bark or start talking even when taking damage or when they die they will make some annoying death sound, it really isn't necessary and in some ways turned me off from playing the mode. So I immediately started a new game with the original, which by large is the exact same game you remember from the 90's, without any of the new "additions". It's perfect as it is and didn't really need an "enhanced" version. I suspect that is just for the newer gen Z type gamers who have low attention spans and don't want to actually read? the voice acting is terrible in that enhanced version so it's actually sort of funny it is being praised so much. Just because it is "new" doesn't make things automatically better. Also, the new up-resolution of the graphics feels sort of fake and like bad art upscaling the art. I don't know if they used AI or not but it just doesn't look as good as the original art and you can tell easily. All in all, a phenomenal game and one I am very grateful for Square-Enix to have remastered. They also did a much better job ( read night and day difference) of this title compared to that dumpster fire "remake" for Front Mission 3. They should have left the original game as an option to play, but ruined it instead with new incredibly bad art direction and design that wasn't in the original game. Now, please remaster VAGRANT STORY and Xenogears next Square-Enix!

Silent Hill f10
Sep 26, 2025
Just finished the game last night. But first, I wanted to address some of the negative reviews some people have been giving this game. These are absolutely NOT Silent Hill fans, and they are some of the most insufferable, toxic type of fans of any IP, period. I absolutely love Silent Hill 2, and the remake from last year. And while I think that it is better than Silent Hill f, I will absolutely give credit to the developers at NeoBard for doing something DIFFERENT and FRESH for Silent Hill. And not just rehashing the same damn Silent Hill 2 formula over and over again. The combat in Silent Hill f has depth and is interesting to say the least. Yes, this game is more combat focused, but some of the criticism about the game's story and mood not feeling like Silent Hill is not credible at all. It's like these people normally play Resident Evil games and think Silent Hill should be just like it? or randomly if some person playing and enjoying a game like Grand Theft Auto trying Silent Hill f... the thing is OF COURSE you wouldn't like it, because it is so drastically different than those kinds of games. Don't try and compare them like that because it is extremely lame and not the same kind of game. Ok, on to the review itself. I completed the game last night after around 13 and 1/2 hours. This game has some disturbing scenes and the overall mood I really enjoyed for a Silent Hill game. And the fog, like Silent Hill 2 remake is some of the best I have ever seen in a video game. There are many quiet introspective type moments, like navigating a mountain path with a new moody/somber track from Akira Yamaoka, I could absolutely listen and hear his style when I heard it, so I was very happy when I did. The game has a more slower pace I would say than Silent Hill 2 but what I loved about it was not only the Japanese setting, but that the game had important messages about human nature, and also from a more feminine perspective. But it wasn't over the top and in your face like so many other lame western type games that overdo this type of thing. Like Last of Us Part 2 in example. I believe Hinako is a beautiful and complex main character for Silent Hill f and the series as a whole. The game has a tragic story and one that will stay with you, like many other Silent Hill games in the franchise.. Like I said there are some very difficult scenes throughout the game to watch, I know for subsequent playthroughs I will most likely be skipping these. Make sure you read the content warning before starting. This is not Kingdom Hearts or some kind of kid teenage angst game. There are some seriously dark themes in the plot. I absolutely adored the soundtrack and loved all the new tracks from Akira Yamaoka. It is absolutely insane this guy is still doing music for Silent Hill games, much less even working at his age. So in conclusion, give the game a try and accept that it is different from Silent Hill 2 or any other Silent Hill **** you will enjoy it enormously I think. Just don't complain about the combat or whatever because it is quite different than any of the other games. Think almost Silent Hill 4 the room compared to 2 or 3.. there are more options with items and strategy and in some ways Silent Hill f does remind me of a RPG game. So in that sense I can see why the game would be divisive. it's just very tiring today because if you can see and appreciate the Devs were trying to do something different and unique, and not just make another carbon copy of Silent Hill 2.. you can appreciate it so much more that it was a different experience in the end. Finally, the people giving this a 1 or whatever for bad performance, just stop reviewing and stop playing games. It's moronic to bash a game or even give it a 1 because of that. Show more respect. And further the game will get patched for PS5 Pro so be patient. I played on 30 FPS "Quality mode" with no issues whatsoever or slowdown. Edit: I am giving Silent Hill f a 10. Just to counterbalance all the idiotic, nonsensical criticisms I am seeing about this title, Silent Hill f. But I would rate this game about a 8/10, around 86 on Metacritic seems fair. Seriously, these people think ONLY they know what Silent Hill is, and anything different than the original games isn't Silent Hill or whatever.. just give this game an OPEN MIND, and you will find it is highly intelligent, terrifying in many places and has a excellent and haunting story you won't soon forget. There are obviously some extremely toxic and annoying Silent Hill fans apart of this IP, whether "gamers" or just the fans in general. Don't listen to those negative toxic people. Play the game and decide for yourself.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach10
Jul 3, 2025
It is everything I wanted from a sequel and the 6 years wait was well worth it! Not very many games have left me in tears by the ending credits, and this is one I won't forget in some time. The writing is intelligent, beautiful and has a lasting message on Life and how we deal with Death. It's one of Kojima's very best games and was absolutely worth the wait. The game play is also addicting and while it definitely isn't for everyone, the people who do 'get it' will absolutely love and appreciate nearly everything about it, especially the improvements from the original game. The ending was beautifully made, and even thought it's a completely different game, I think FF7 Remake part 3 could definitely take some notes on how you properly deal with a characters death, accepting it but not letting it drag you down, but to keep moving towards the future. And even though there is the pain of the initial loss, you use it to keep moving forward, it's a incredible intelligent message and beautiful. All the props to this team and Hideo Kojima, he just might have made his very best game of his career and in my opinion this is game of the year 2025 without a doubt.

Front Mission 3 Remake4
Jun 27, 2025
I've been a fan of Front Mission for around 25 years now and Front Mission 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. There is a strong message in the game about conflict, human nature and history repeating itself. It's a disappointment then with this remake, I purchased it to give it a try and give the developers the benefit of the doubt, even after seeing the trailers and demos leading up to the release. Overall the Remake of Front Mission 3 just feels like it lost the exceptional Art Direction from the original game, which had a much more dark and gritty style. In the Remake, there are random glowing lights plastered all over the wanzers like the CEO or some non-artist just demanded it because "kids love that glowing stuff!" There is also some really horrible chromatic aberration going on alot of the environments I've player through that covers everything in this really ugly glow effect that actively subtracts again from the art direction again, which already had a low bar with this Remake. Also, the designs of the wanzers themselves feel much worse I feel, like they were lacking the original style the wanzers had in the original game, and instead in the Remake they feel almost toy-like and not like giant mechs they are supposed to be. The sound effects overall also sound much worse, with the machine gun being a prime source of this issue, weapon sounds are very flat and lack any sort of 'oomph' to them when firing compared to the original. The new intro also just feels very low quality with the wanzer showing, instead of the original with a lone soldier looking over the devastation of the city from the game's events. It just feels very cheaply made. While I don't necessarily believe the Developers used AI for up-scaling, many of the 2d images just feel very cheaply done and like there wasn't any soul or heart put into them. I think there is a reason the game and developers are getting so much criticism online, it isn't simply just to be "mean", it's that this game deserved much better then what we actually got. It's disingenuous then, to say the criticism is just from some "anime character avatar weirdo online", or also one I've seen "Oh these are just nitpicking arguments" but rather from fans who care about the series, and to see it given this half baked treatment is really just unacceptable. What it means is that any subsequent Remake games of Front Mission (4 and 5 possibly) will also lack quality and be a substantial loss to what came before originally. I thought the Nintendo Insider review summed it up perfectly at the end of the review they did: perhaps Mankind never learns. Play the original PS1 Front Mission 3. It's infinitely better than this garbage remake. Edit: I've been reading some of the reviews in support of this game and it's obvious alot of them are not being honest, maybe it's just people from the development team blindly supporting it so they can keep their jobs. It's a great example of "toxic positivity", same issue as Concord. Perhaps they didn't play the original game and are only supporting this because it's new, it doesn't change anything with the criticisms. Some guy said that the people criticizing this remake just "hate everything", not true at all dude. Go and read my reviews for example on other games I've played, most of them are positive. The difference is that the people criticizing the game are better fans in general because we actually care about quality, you obviously will just eat whatever slop is given to you and call it solid gold.. give me a break. Demand more from the games you love, otherwise they will continue to slip into mediocrity which obviously some of these people giving the remake a 10 or 9 are doing. You are rewarding bad practices in the games industry which is causing it to fade into irrelevance.

Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster: FF35th Anniversary Edition10
Mar 13, 2025
Some of the best games ever made. A tribute to a time lost when games were made with passion and heart. It's embarassing reading some of the reviews complaining about the pixel art, as if games, such as these weren't timeless classics from almost 30 years ago. The Fortnite and low attention span Gen Z's types won't appreciate these games - but let me tell you these are by far some of the best games ever made. And they stand the test of time because of their stories, musical composition and game play. A timeless classic.

The people bombing this game for it"not changing enough" or being too close to the original are being disingenuous, and is in my opinion a really bad take. Even the so called "professional reviewers" who complained about the same thing. That's not the point of this, it's meant to be a faithful recreation of the original game. Changing the game's formula or added voiced characters(which may or may not have been terrible) would have ruined what made the game a classic in the first place. The one thing I will say so far is the game is much easier than the original with the splash damage added with the timing, so that all enemies are hit, it's a bit easier now because of this along with the triple move. Seems honestly like that was a move geared to try to make the game more appealing to kids or something. Although a cool feature, it has dumbed down the difficult quite a bit and I definitely don't remember the original being this easy. I saw one comment complaining about the game actually being too hard which was quite hilarious. Did you skip all random battles and not equip anything or try to level up? At any rate the new soundtrack I am loving so far and actually reminds me some of Kingdom Hearts. Because they brought back Yoko Shimomura this also makes the game a faithful recreation and the spirit of the new soundtrack is enhanced in my opinion by the new soundtrack by her. All in all a great game and remake but I am giving it this score because of the much easier kids difficulty(even on Normal difficulty). If you loved the original game as I did you will most likely enjoy this too anyways. Play it for the memories and your childhood experiences. Ignore the half baked misinformed reviews from some of these other people, they either didn't play the original game or are just trying to find anything to complain about including the price, absolute joke. Don't listen to those people. Play it and experience it yourself and decide.

Final Fantasy XVI10
Jul 2, 2023
Final Fantasy XVI is truly a masterpiece ****, not just as a Final Fantasy title. Naoki Yoshida assembled a dream team from Masayoshi Soken as the composer of FFXVI, to Ryota Suzuki as the Combat designer among other series Veterans. The game is a excellent example of telling a compelling story with believable and well written Characters, a beautiful and dark plot that will capture your imagination and attention and never let up until the end. The Story is very dark and mature for a Final Fantasy title. The Story, Music, Combat and World Building are all master-class, it is so refreshing to play a game in 2023 with a original story and not just another remaster or remake of an existing IP, and have it be an incredible example of what modern games can still be and aspire towards. I will also say the main villain was one of the most interesting and original of the entire series, in my opinion. It was definitely something I wasn't expecting and the way the Developers handled this villain was very interesting. It felt different, but also the game tells some really great lessons from the themes but also the Characters motivations and how they grow and redeem themselves throughout the plot. I liked Clive and Jill as the main Characters and they were both relatable, likeable and felt like believable Characters who I could relate to and sympathize with. I also felt the romance between Clive and Jill felt natural and not forced, and they had a great Chemistry as well. The Voice acting throughout the game is master class, and some of the very best in the Industry. If there is any game you should definitely buy this year it is Final Fantasy XVI. Play it with the intention of playing through to the end, and you will be greatly rewarded to see a Story of love, war, loss and redemption that is truly one of the series most beautiful and haunting stories. It will be a game that will stay with me for many years to come and I am grateful I played it.
