It's the next indie-game with an 80's feel, which is a pity. But, that being said, Towerfall Ascension is a very addictive videogame with a good sense of complexity within. It is the ideal game to play with friends on the couch.

I’m still playing this with friends in 2026, and honestly it’s the best game in the world. It’s incredibly simple, yet it never gets old. Every match turns into chaos, laughter, and intense **** proves that a game doesn’t need to be complicated to be perfect. TowerFall is pure fun, exactly as it is. Please don’t change a thing.

One of the best - if not the best - competitive couch playstation games I know. It is great to play against friends and for us never gets stale as there are so many stages and modifications to select. You can basically change everything and gameplay has a lot of customisation options. Overall a great game I am very happy with! Only an "no headjump stump"-modificator would be really nice!

Like an arrow, local multiplayer cannot reach people further than the neighborhood, but that doesn't make it inefficient, particularly through close combat. Hence Towerfall Ascension proves how powerful archery can be, provided that it relies on a masterful execution and a sizeable army. With such a large choice of weapons and a clever use of terrain, the most desperate situations can be overcome, even alone. Thanks to warlord Matt Thorson - the creator of this amazing battle alchemy - here's a great reason to renew local rivalries and appreciate all kinds of human relations, friendly or not.

For those who want to play alone Towerfall Ascension is a smart, fun and challenging puzzle game that sadly won’t last too long. On the contrary it becomes a nearly magical experience together with three friends. When it comes to deep party games that are easy to pick up this is one of the best ones.

I love local multiplayer game. I prefer to play against my friends on my couch than online where mr nobody is your opponent. Maybe i'm coming from an old generation, but Towerfall is clearly a game in my chord. I don't like the aesthetic, but the gameplay is solid and funny. Compared to other local multiplayer is a little bit repetitive, but it's an overall good game. Conclusion: If you want to have some fun with your friends for some nights it's the title for you, but it will become boring after a while.

Basic game semi good online game nothing special has old graphics, and is not particularly innovating. Is similar to many arena games where you fight in an arena to gain power- ups.
SummaryTowerFall is an archery combat platformer for up to 4 players. It's a local party game centering around hilarious, intense versus matches. The core mechanics are simple and accessible, but combat is fast and fierce. It's best played competitively with friends, cross-legged on the floor within punching distance of each other.
