Towerborne is an easy sell. The combat is fast, the multiplayer is a lot of fun, and even solo there is something about the game that keeps you coming back for one more go. With the constant quest for better gear to challenge the later levels, you’ll be fighting, grinding, upgrading and doing it all again willingly.

Towerborne impresses with its stunning art direction and simple, lighthearted, and intuitive gameplay, but it leaves the impression that, in the transition to its final form, it lost something along the way, resulting in a game that’s less engaging and captivating than it was during its early access period. The result is a title that’s visually stunning and enjoyable to play, but less immersive than it could have been.

Towerborne became a clear example of the fact that maintaining a live-service game after its support has been discontinued does more harm than good.
