The new Tomb Raider is not as revolutionary as the original from 1996 but this reboot is the most mature, interesting and friendly entry to the series. For me it is Uncharted on steroids, a game that’s better in every aspect than Nathan Drake’s adventures. [CD-Action 04/2013, p.52]
Tomb Raider is the second best Uncharted game behind Uncharted 2. While it gives up a lot of its adventure identity fans have come to know and love, the end result is still a fantastic game that shouldn’t be missed by any action fan. If Crystal Dynamics can inject more adventure elements into a potential sequel, it would be a pretty interesting proposition indeed.
Tomb Raider is a fine game, but something essential feels like it has been left out. Lara seems to have found the map, but missed the treasure.

I love a good mystery puzzle solver adventure game and although they really tamed Lara Croft down a lot - this game doesn't hold back in the adventure! Really stayed true to the treasure-hunting adventure but the redesign really makes it feel like Uncharted and not Tomb Raider.

Finished the GOTY edition and loved it. Great graphics and mechanics. The combat system and the clever use of tools to clear paths are the best parts. Everything is well-thought-out. A perfect 15-20 hour adventure!

Encouraging representation of Lara Croft from being vulnerable to survive and surpass the scared little girl she previously was. The storytelling was brilliant, and the gameplay mechanics were great. The graphics, however, didn't feel as timeless as the games of that era, like GTA V. But overall, it was an enjoyable experience playing as Lara.

Early quick-time events aside, this twelve hour adventure suffers so few missteps that it’s a genuine delight to play, even as the lead gets trampled into the seasoned pro we’ve come to know. Everyone take a bow… the first lady of gaming has returned.

The lackluster multiplayer is absolutely no reason to avoid what is otherwise one of the best action adventures I’ve ever played.

I just love this game, the story, the characters and the fact that this game came out 12 years ago, but still looks awesome.

Tomb Raider is not just a reboot, but a revelation in a series that had long passed its prime.

Tomb Raider's reboot is definitely a success delivering a deep, adrenalinic and spectacular game with a new and charismatic Lara Croft. Our main complaint is with the lack of greater scale puzzles and more challenging ones, something the game should have retained from its predecessors.

A few things about the new Tomb Raider come across as wasted effort. The story of Lara’s transformation is sabotaged by the gameplay, and is frankly a little dorky, with an after-school special style multi-ethnic cast filled by lame sterotypes like angry black woman and scrap-happy Scotsman. Likewise a multiplayer mode, which nobody familiar with Tomb Raider would expect or even think to ask for, is competent but utterly unremarkable.

Crystal Dynamics built a gorgeous game, with a lot of good ideas and an astonishing artistic direction. Unfortunately, the game script is poor, and the lack of strong characters and design innovations make the latter part of Tomb Raider a spectacular third person shooter, but one without personality.

It’s really hard to be excited about the future of Tomb Raider after this game. It fails where more successful films and games of its kind succeed: in its characters. The way in which Lara goes from inexperienced to full-on action movie hero survivalist is so jarring that it’s near impossible as a player to remain on the same emotional wavelength as the story. Because of this the rest of the game falters.

This game seems like a decent game, for example its gameplay is quite decent although games like uncharted I think it has better gameplay and better cinematics such as situations like the train or when you go by car, as for the story I think it has a decent narrative and decent cinematics but as I said it does not seem like one of the best because there are games like uncharted that improve them, in the graphic section it seems to me that it is one of the best sections since the game is beautiful and the caves and certain places look quite beautiful, for me the game starts quite boring but as soon as you spend a few hours playing the truth is that it becomes a quite fun game and the ending seems like an outrage because I find it very exciting and quite fun when it comes to playing in short it seems like a fun game but from my point of view it is not a game to play for many hours because the duration of the game is not that outrageous either and when you are playing for a while you get bored, it is a decent game so I give it a rating of 75

The only positive aspects of the game are the action scenes and vertical gameplay, which is pretty good for 2013, and which doesn't cause any burning. Otherwise, the shooting is bad and not intuitive, which the developers couldn't bring to a normal idea, the plot and characters are terrible, the locations themselves and their exploration are extremely uninteresting, and the locations themselves feel like just a cardboard polygon, where there is nothing to do. The hunting system in this game is also created through one place, and for the most part it is simply meaningless.

Bad things this game did: Not an open world like it could have been Horrible ending Forgettable story and characters Crafting (while good) you can't read what the hell you just did had to find tombs on your own. one location pretty much "I hate tombs" **** that line Good things: Story: all be it, not brilliant Combat was OK I suppose but it felt more like a cover shooter half the time. biggest falt: NOT ****ING TOMB RAIDER!!!!!!

SummaryTomb Raider is a re-imagining of the infamous action-adventure franchise and explores the visceral origin story of this character. In the game, Lara Croft ascends from a frightened young lady on her first adventure and emerges as a hardened survivor. With only her sharp instincts and her innate ability to push the limits of human enduran... Read More
