It won't win converts to the genre and the plot is problematic, but The Division is a handsome open-world offering, spiked with treachery. [May 2016, p.81]

That's the essential nature, and essential problem, of The Division's underlying structure. It's asking you to hunt gear with no tangible reward in terms of what you can do, how you do it, or what you look like doing it. [May 2016, p.108]

It builds a strong foundation on the gameplay front, offering up rewarding combat and simple skills, but doesn’t follow that with anything substantial, being content to let the standard end game grind and excellent-yet-stressful PVP try to cover all the questions its writing leaves you with.

A cross between "Destiny" and "Borderlands". The post-apocalyptic story is told with Clancy's grounded approach, but enemies are "bullet sponges". This co-op-based loot shooter is best played cooperatively with a group of buddies online. The expansive open environments and graphics are impressive. Overall, this is a good action/RPG game. I'd rate it with an 8 out of 10.

My first PS4 game, I enjoyed it to the ending then dropped it for something else. I came back after 3 or 4 years on the Division 2 and found out that this is the best game I ever played so far. Graphics and world are much better than most of current gen titles, story and writing superb. Gunplay is perfect. The overall experience might seem a little shallow until you dive into the endgame. That's when it blooms. It's not a matter of grinding, minmaxing or finding better gear, it becomes a reason, a way of life. It becomes addiction. Sweet and bitter addiction. Vet agents know exactly what I mean. If only this was still alive with new content... I would die a happy man.

The Division sets players in a striking post-apocalyptic New York, offering an engaging open-world shooter with strong co-op mechanics. The setting feels unique and immersive, and tactical firefights are satisfying with friends. However, the story is fairly weak and doesn’t carry the same weight as the atmosphere. The endgame quickly becomes repetitive, with grind-heavy progression that wears thin. Overall, it’s a solid foundation that shines in co-op but falls short in narrative depth.

There's no getting away from the fact The Division is the best open-world that Ubisoft has ever created, while the gameplay is consistently entertaining and cohesive. The deep RPG elements and tactical gunplay just add to that. Plus, the fact you can get so much enjoyment out of being a solo player, with that experience heightened by buddying up, is quite a feat.

There is so much more that this game gets right than wrong. To call Tom Clancy's The Division 'just a shooter' is doing it quite a disservice. It has some elements of the genre, but it comes away more akin to an RPG when things are said and done, similar to how Mass Effect successfully blended genres and came out stronger than the individual sum of its parts. It lacks the amount of narrative control over the story that Mass Effect provides, but in most other respects The Division accomplishes the things it sets out to do. It might not be the textbook definition of fun, but the bleak world is interesting, the combat is engaging and I found progression rewarding.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say The Division is the online shooter experience that will usher the genre into a new golden age, but it is a worthy alternative for those who are looking for a more methodical and immersive experience than what games like Destiny can offer. There are still no guarantees about The Division’s long-term sustainability, but the strong out-of-the-gate showing it has already made is certainly a good start.

Ubisoft now has a solid foundation for operating its first persistent open world. If Massive and co. make smart additions to the end-game content and keep a steady stream of new activities for players to enjoy, I could see this game going strong years into the future. But if the Dark Zone and PvE environment don't evolve, I'm not sure many people will be left in New York City come the winter.

At first, hours spent with The Division go by very quickly. Constant action in Manhattan can engage for a good while, but the game becomes repetitive and monotonous if approached without friends or other agents.

Acknowledging its major flaws and noteworthy highlights, the whole of The Division is an average shooting game with online elements, loot progression, and some bugs.

«Хм… город!.. Город — страшная сила. А чем больше город, тем он сильнее. Он засасывает!.. Только сильный может… выкарабкаться. Город забирает силу, сильный приходит и становится слабым» из к/ф 'Брат' 1997 г. Эта цитата, преследует меня в Tom Clancy's The Devision, созданные условия повествования, подтверждают слова Немца “Hmm… the city!.. The city is a terrible force. And the bigger the city, the stronger it is. He ****! .. Only the strong can ... get out. The city takes strength, the strong comes and becomes weak ”from the movie 'Brother' 1997 This quote haunts me in Tom Clancy's The Division, the created conditions for the narrative confirm the words of Nemets

The Division offers a detailed post-apocalyptic New York with solid cover-based shooting and RPG mechanics. The loot system and co-op gameplay are engaging, but the story feels generic, and enemy AI can be bullet-spongey. Endgame content was initially lacking but improved with updates. Best enjoyed with friends, it’s a decent looter-shooter but falls short of its full potential.

Decent concept. Good gameplay loop with terrible grinding. Characters are all boring.

1. If you are a solo player, don't buy it 2. Enemies are sponges, you need to shoot them many, many times to kill them. 3, Nice graphics

SummaryTom Clancy's The Division has players assume the role of Division agents in which they find themselves caught up in an epic conspiracy, forced to combat not only the effects of a manmade virus, but also the rising threat of those behind it.
