The Wardrobe does not have some magnificent 3D engine nor some extra-cool special effects for your graphic cards, but it does have tons of black humour and a lot of abstruse puzzles that will please the old-school adventure fans.

For a game about the undead, The Wardrobe is ironically packed with life. A few unfair puzzles can’t dampen its sheer enthusiasm and sense of fun.

The Wardrobe is old fashioned point and click game full of references, dark humor and bright dialogues. It may frustrate, it's a little buggy and the ending feels a little rushed, but it's absolutely worth a play.

Sharp self-aware humor and crazy characters are what every old school point & click fan likes, and this game has a ton of it. Where the game wasn't so successful is the puzzle design and story development.

A hilarious point-and-click adventure, with tons of quotes from movies, tv shows, and games, and funny dialogues. The gameplay is pretty traditional, though even too cruel sometimes. Still, if you want to have some fun playing a decent adventure, this is a good pick.

The Wardrobe manages to pull off a fulfilling, novel story with artistic flair and only a few setbacks, setting it apart in the sea of retro-inspired, pixel-laden, nostalgia-inducing point-and-clicks. The story is witty, the vast cast of characters is intriguing, and, while the ending isn’t very satisfactory, the journey is a worthwhile one.

A reliance on meta-jokes and pop-culture references, alongside irrational puzzle design leave this point and click adventure falling short of its true potential. Fans of the genre will likely find enjoyment here though, if only due to the obvious inspirations behind the game.
