Friendly enough to for the non-Sims-enthusiasts among us and something fresh for players that have been around the block before, The Sims Medieval shows that there's still some life in this franchise yet.

Pretty fun premise but feels more like a proof of concept. You have interesting characters that can do interesting things, and you combine them together to do quests and deal with situations. It's a cool direction for a sims game to take, but it feels like it never goes far enough and the personal relationships aren't enough to compensate. Potential unfulfilled. Still good for a short jaunt with.

The game has good artificial intelligence.With class quests, governance and daily sims life it shows diffirent game experience. But the game has so small and boring map, if it has been open world game it would be awesome.

It's accessible, it's decent fun, and there's a metric ton of content.

It's got a few kinks to work out - both in technical terms and in the way some elements are implemented, but we'd happily recommend this to both Sim fans and newcomers to the franchise. In fact, this will probably work better on new comers, as it provides an easy introduction to the simulation aspect, whilst providing them something fun to do.

Super cool and almost everything is new from the very original Sims 3 and u can sword fight and decorate ur kindom!!!!! i think sims 3 has improved!!!

AT LAST! I liked the Sims idea some but hated playing at the end as I always, ended up making a character that looked like me, had a family, a job (constantly trying to promote), having to take care of things around the house and paying bills and never having actual time of my own (in between fulfilling personal needs and trying to be nice and social)... I got my life for that! Didn't need a simulation!!! But this was a nice change, that enables you to bring to life all the fairy-tale, fantasy and medieval characters you wanted, decorated with nice ambitions and achievements and the level of customization exactly to my liking! I waited to buy the collector's edition for 17â

The Sims Medieval is a beautiful game with fun and interesting ideas, but it doesn't live up to my fantasy of the Middle Ages and it doesn't completely satisfy the Sims fan in me.

Medieval is suitable even to the die-hard opponents of the Sims. If they can bear the fact that they will install the game with "Sims" in its title they will be rewarded with some decent entertainment. [Mar 2011]

The Sims Medieval tries to reinvigorate the series, and ends up losing most of what made the previous games great, instead taking the game off into a very different and overly simplistic direction, shedding all freedom for no real benefit.

Looks different, feels different but plays the same. A must have for any Sims fan. The Sims Medieval occupation plays a bigger role than any of the other Sims game.This game has more restrictions such as not allowing one to create their own castle and not able to forge your own quest or purpose in the game.
7/10 for me.

I have paid for games that my pc couldn't handle, I have paid for games that I didn't know it had monthly costs, but this is the one I regret buying the most. Although it might seem like a cool idea at first, putting the Sims into the Medieval times it doesn't work at all. Probably the first hours were fun, but then I cam across some glitches and actually lack of content. There is not much of the simulation that Sims is known for and the project has completely been left down.

Yay, the sims get medieval! Great concept! Horrible implementation. Starting a new kingdom in each ambition could have been cooler, I mean, you get pretty much the same quests at the start of your new kingdom, the new one looks the same as your first kindom, the geometery is exactly the same and when you send off one of your sims from an old kingdom to become the new monarch, they lose their abilities, like sending off your wizard to become the new monarch, he/she gets there and loses all wizarding powers, no more staff or spells, no, now you have a sword and armour. Great idea, huge letdown, I wasted 350 south-african rands on this, don't you make the same mistake I did.
