Terra Invicta
The most beautiful and versatile UFO strategy game since 1994's UFO: Enemy Unknown.
A mind-boggling grand strategy game that tries to do way too many things, but ends up doing some of them extremely well.

If you can push through the lukewarm welcome and remain patient, though, you'll find something vivid and exciting here. [Issue#420, p.94]

Terra Invicta masterfully expands the 4X genre with deep grand strategy, blending geopolitical intrigue, space colonization, and alien conflict. Its real-time-with-pause mechanics, Newtonian physics-based combat, and interconnected systems offer unparalleled depth. The stunning art style enhances the experience—celestial bodies are beautifully rendered, and spacecraft designs echo The Expanse, balancing realism and sci-fi elegance. Though UI complexity remains, the visual fidelity, combined with strategic richness, cements Terra Invicta as a standout, immersive 4X epic.

This game is a casino run by war profiteers and astrophysicists with systems designed by sadomasochistic data scientists who were provided an unlimited supply of meth. Disregard bad reviews from those unencumbered by the thought process and embrace one of the best 4x games since Aurora.

This game looks pretty cool and interesting, but for such an overly complicated game the tutorial **** ass, and the ui/ux and audio balancing is all a mess. This game had one of the worst tutorials I have breathed, and I'm too lazy to scour possible youtubers who uploaded an actual tutorial to how to play the game. If they can't even manage to teach how to play, they might as well have simplified many of the complicated and overloaded mechanics and map space.

Terra Invicta puts the “grand” in grand strategy, offering experienced players a deeply involved strategy game that takes them from a shadow government to a space-faring superpower. That same depth creates a demanding learning curve, however, and the time commitment required may put some newcomers to the genre off.

There are brilliant ideas in the ambitious early access release of Terra Invicta, and a lot of fun to find for strategy game enthusiasts, but you need to be willing to drill down into sometimes-opaque and confusing mechanics to do it. Politics are fun, if overwhelming, and the space layer is very cool, but the two just don't quite gel together yet. I do recommend Terra Invicta, but when playing takes so much trial-and-error to see results, my overall recommendation has to come with big caveats until it has spent some more time in early access.

It is a very in-depth, very long, but quite rewarding grand strategy game. You won’t get how everything fits together the first time you play, but you will eventually, and taking the fight tk the aliens feels much sweeter then!

I have been playing for 9 hours now, got this on Game Pass or probably would not have played it. The other reviews about UI are somewhat justified its not "great" but I didn't do the tutorial and just worked it out after clicking about for long enough and I was drunk and high at the time so I mean it can't be that bad. I have only played on the slow mode (non accelerated) and wow its slow but you can speed up time so thats fine and it actually means in the beginning not much happens so it doesn't feel overwhelming to me, the slowness of expanding at the start actually helped me get my head around things. Can see myself playing this for a long time yet, I am a fan of games like satisfactory, oxygen not included, stellaris, HOI4, and feel like this game suits me well.

UI/UX in this game is a frustrating mess, pure example of why coders should not be a making design. Completely lost in the UI and had zero motivation to study it, boring AF.

I have decades behind me playing complex strategy games, and I love the nuance that arises from playing same, but this is the absolute worst game tutorial I have ever had to suffer through. Yes, I know I can go to YouTube to suffer though many dozens of instructional videos to learn what this tutorial should teach, but it just isn't worth it. Glad this came up on Xbox Game Pass for PC because if I had to pay for it, I would be pissed. What a complete ****.
