Great game for family and friends. A great time is guaranteed for the next 2 days, and not only thanks to the variety of DLC, the game is replayable. I rate it 8 out of 10 fairy wands

Talisman is a great game that I enjoy playing with my friends. With all expansions, and friends that you can talk with you can spend hours on it and enjoy it.

It's astonishing how boring and badly designed Talisman is. I've played the tabletop version of Talisman before and always thought it was an awful game. I love boardgames, have dozens of them, but Talisman... It takes the features of games like Monopoly and other trail games and try to entice you with a mildly interesting (though generic) fantasy setting - but the truth is: it remains as boring, flawed and outdated as Monopoly itself. The game may drag for hours and hours without an ending in sight, stalemates aren't rare and everything is about randomness. There's no skill involved playing in Talisman, all you can do is try to push your luck in a general direction and pray for the best. I understand why a game like this would be popular 20 or 30 years ago, but today we have plenty of better board (and digital) games to play. Maybe *huge* fans of Mario Party would enjoy playing digital Talisman (or old fans of the original iteration feeling nostalgic), but I just can't recommend this game to anyone else. You want to play "digital boardgames" on your PC? Try Smallworld, Ticket to Ride or anything else, but stay away from Talisman.

WEAKNESSES: -people with trainers -90% of win games end with "lost connection" and no exp -game start old match from time to time (even from main menu) -achivements not working properly (my friend is doing achievements and they're gone from 10//20 to 0/20, on my PC that didn't happen) -if you lose at the start of the game you must wait till the end to get exp -sometimes in lobby room the game starts when it like, one time i entered lobby and the game started with no ready button -new expansions are messing the game, especially new weird characters -clicking on board is terrible, there are huge delays and missclics are very possible STRENGTHS (1!!!): -game looks like original Talisman and have nice audiovisual setting

In 2020 it's a pretty good game with Discord friends and DLC-s. I have 300h+ in this game and still happy of it.

If you like the board game, stay away from this. If you didn't like the board game, stay away from this. If you never heard of the board game, stay away from this.

I've never played the original board game. In my first game I was a warrior. I used a sword and an axe at the same time. I learned a little magic. I killed a dragon. A wizard turned me into a toad. A druid stole all my stuff. A troll killed everyone of us. Very good game. If you like board games and movies like the Lord of the Rings, there is a good chance you will like this game. An extra tip: When you play against the computer, increase the speed of the AI to spend less time waiting for your turn.

Plain horrible. No tutorial, horrific german language setting (which can NOT be set to english - according to devs), animation takes ages (even on fast settings) and the game itself drags on and on. Did not finish one game before uninstalling

Excellent port of the board game. Very fun to play with friends and even more fun with the expansions which are being released regularly. Runs well and the cross platform multiplayer is a bonus.

Well I wasn't expecting something awesome, but after half hour my interest changed into bitterness. A lots of classes is what I really liked about this game. A different options of game style can keep you even in most boring games for a long period of time. But after I discovered how the dice works the fate of this game was forever sealed for me. You will mostly get 1 to 3 on normal rolls and when you roll 1 next roll will be 4. When you roll 2 next roll wil be 5 and same with 3 and 6. The problem is that mostly your opponent gets those good rolls and until you use fate you are screwed. Besides of the evil dice you get a lot of bugs like getting stuck after spell failure because you press some key on the keyboard and there is nothing you can do except for quiting the game. Your raft won't work, your items and so on ... and I experienced this in about 2 hours ... so you can make a picture.

This is the slowest game I have ever played. As someone who has never played the board game, I can assure you that anyone not blinded by nostalgia will quickly come to loathe this game. What you are doing is often very poorly explained, causing players to throw away cards they didn't realize they were tossing, no tutorial mode or in game glossary, no pop-up explanations once in game, and the final nail for me, 45 minutes were spent pressing the same button over and over again waiting for the AI to stop healing itself long enough for the game to end. Avoid like the plague unless you enjoy boredom and frustration.

Absolutely incredible experience. I love every one of the four hours that I played the game with my good friends! My favorite part was where the hag followed me for half the game and got rid of my gnome. Phenomenal game-play, I would recommend this game over other greats such as Kayne and Lynch:Dog Days, or Unturned.

Bad adaptation of an otherwise great game. The interface is a pain to use, multiplayer crashes every other turn, and the game let's you feel the strong lack of enthusiasm the devs obviously had. Add DLC cash-farming on top and you know what this game was made: to get some quick money by misusing a good title to get into your wallet. Also reading some of the positive comments here make me feel like they have been sponsored to cheat on the user score.

The bugs kill the fun. Playing for three hours, only to be slaughtered by a puny sky screecher (the equivalent of being savaged to death by an earth worm) is pretty awful. It's an old bug, it's a known bug. You can't save the game and avoid it somehow either. If it's going to be in the game, it will always win, regardless of that it's stats say - which means the AI will try and battle it anyway. Also the new shapeshifter character will crash the game if it's in play. I recommend choosing characters as a work around. There's no proper way to debug this game either - there's no debug report that I can generate, I can't upload a buggy saved game to illustrate a problem. I think that's often a problem with coding now - quality control is generally shoddy, because the pressure is on to rush it out and fix it later- maybe - maybe not.

Nunca jugué a la versión de tablero. Pero debo decir que este juego me sorprendió gratamente. Me encanta la música, la interfaz, las cartas, todo. Es altamente adictivo. Me encanta!!

Talisman is a very poor board game to begin with. Main game mechanic is frustrating the player. A dice game that goes on for 3-8 hours. The Digital edition is a bad port of the board game. It forces you to watch hundreds of die-roll animations every game. It's bug-ridden and you can not expect anything to work at any time - it will just not function, at random critical moments. Interaction with the game is often non-intuitive and cluncky. You can forget multiplayer as it crashes at random roughly 9 of 10 games. Talisman Digital Edition runs a DLC greed-scheme, where they offer you the game piecemeal for an insane price. This is as bad as it gets.

Great port of board game. The ai is good enough, at least for me. The long play time may be boring for some, so... be advised. For the board game fans, two thumbs up!

PC port FAIL. Nomad Games had ONE JOB - to create a UI for the board game. They failed. About a minute into playing this, I realized that it would have been better to release this as a browser game. Think about it - the default browser/Windows UI is BETTER than the mess that Nomad Games concocted. That I enjoyed playing the board game in my tender youth only deepens my disappointment and irritation. Well played, Nomad Games.

As an old time Talisman player I was thrilled to see this come to Steam. It is as one would expect it to be, a computer game verson of the bored game which I believe has been done very well. It's the first time I've been able to play Talisman as a single player and while the AI is a little dodgy at times it does try its best to give you a fun game. This is a game I keep coming back to, to kill a little time.

What the fanboys have failed to tell you is that there any any number of random crashes, lockups and not being able to finish a game that constantly happen. They also want $2.99 for EACH character in the DLC section. I can understand DLC like an expansion with 90 extra cards being $2.99 but really $2.99 for ONE character. lol That is just totally ridiculous. I do not recommend this game. If you're going to put money into Talisman get the REAL game with REAL value. A digital game like this with all the crashing and bugs and problems will never be worth anything in the future like the boardgame will. This time the pro reviewers got it right. It's not worth what they want for it. Toddlers toy at the most for 8 or 9 year olds. It relies on a lot of luck and hardly any strategy.

Faithful rendition of the board game. Cheaper than the board game as well. My gaming group mentioned picking it up in lieu of playing the actual board game, and we found it faster to play online. The musical score is pleasant and doesn't seem to get old even after playing for a few hours. The in-game menus are easy to use and understand, however you'll want to spend a few minutes reading up on spell queues and how to use your cards as it isn't clear how to do it initially. Options to increase AI movement speed help expedite single player games to under an hour. My only complaint would be that game menus for graphics, and setting up a game seem clunky, you also need to manually turn on DLC which seems bizarre, although its a one time aggravation. I bought it when it went on sale for $6 on steam, and I don't regret it.

I played this game back when I was 10 years **** board game. I LOVED IT. Boy was I excited to see it come on Steam today. I bought 4 copies today and am, as I type, playing the game in windowed mode. Typing in between turns. Thoroughly enjoying this game. I recommended it for board game loves. Might not be your thing if you are looking for Call of Duty or StarCraft 2. The thing I didn't like about the board game is that I couldn't play it without friends. NOW I can! Get it.

I've been a huge fan of the board game for many years. Unfortunately I'm rarely able to gather with anyone to play with. This game truly solves that issue as the AI is pretty good and the online portion is even better. For those familiar with the board game, I really don't think you'll be disappointed as it is very accurate while having some extra tweets, that in my opinion, make it even better!

Retained the originality of the board game, mix the reduced clear away time and multiplayer support with the expansion capability in this version and you have to admit there is something worth noting when it comes to the electronic version. One of the most original retro's for a while, well worth the play. AAAAAAA++++

I signed up for this account as a result of playing the digital edition of Talisman. It is a really faithful and lovingly constructed game, by people that clearly have a passion for the source material. It really has a strong 'one more turn' vibe that encourages you to play until the end ****. I really support the developers in putting this together and would readily recommend it to fans of the board game and people looking for something a bit different. Good fun!

Nostalgia at its finest. The digital edition of this game has brought back many memories of mine. The digital version of the game also offers many features that the board game could not. Personally, it was always frustrating getting the family around to set up the board game. Now pass to play on a big game is not only incredibly fun, its a seem-less delight. Highly recommend.

Seems like a faithful version of the classic boardgame, without the hassle of setting up, shuffling, and tearing down that comes with the real version. Ideal for players of all ages who fancy starting a game that they don't have to finish in one sitting thanks to the save feature

Excellent virtual version of the board-game. Played this for hours to sharpen my skills! The Reaper expansion adds lots of variety. Can't wait for the Frostmarch!

A well executed version of the board game with the option of either a single or mutli-player game. I can easily recommend this game if you are a fan of the original or looking for a classic game to play.

Very good rendition of the board game. The game is explained very well so it's easy for novices and experts to enjoy. I've had a lot of games online and really enjoyed them. Some can take a while to play, but it's still a lot quicker than playing the board game. Highly recommended!
